I have had my eye on this book for a while now, and I am so pleased I finally bought it.It's quite a large and heavy board book, but the pages are really sturdy and perfect for my two toddlers to handle alone without any risk of them damaging the book.I love the tactile element of the raised numerals 1, 2, 3 etc on each page, in addition to the relevant number of holes on the opposite page; such a lovely way to support the learning.

...we will have to wait until Xmas to find out what junior thinks. To be honest, not quite sure this isn't for paper lovers like myself or for small well behaved kids. It's a wonderful, tactime book that I'm sure will be loved - although how tough it is in junior's hands we will have to wait to find out.

The media could not be loaded. This is a beautifully illustrated book by as a reception teacher I was slightly confused by the choice of pictures to make up each number. Every animal seems to have been made out of one more dot than the number displayed which makes it all slightly confusing. For example the picture of the slug (2) is actually the made up of three dots or two lines. It’s the numicon shape for 3. Might just be me but I think it’s quite confusing!!
