Replacement Transformer for Aquatec CDP 6800 Booster Pump (120V)

Needed to replace on my RO system, this had the correct plug and send to be working great so far.

I had my transformer go out and decided to just buy a new one here. Turns out I also put a power meter on it (Watt usagage) on the new transformer and it showed more than expected, but worked. Sadly, I left if running and it failed again. I let it run and within a day the transformer overheaded. Seems, if the transformer is bad, it is more likely something in the system is drawing too much current. In this case it was my pump. The pump would operate, but was drawning more current than the transformer was rated to handle and would fail from thermal overload. If your transformer exceeds 90 degrees during normal operation then it is likely under too much current because the pump is inefficient. So, be careful about buying just a transformer. Be sure your pump is not drawing to much current or you will just be ordering another pump and transformer combo; that is what I had to do and it resolved the issue. Seems those pumps only last about 2 or 3 years and a failed transformer is your first indication of the problem.Real problem is this transformer did not have a fuse, which would have solved the problem immediately. I ended up researching the specs on this transformer and bought an generic transformer with integrated fuse. Now, I am covered for the next future pump failure when it occurs.

seems to work well, runs a little hot but does what it is supposed to.

Water filter system

After ordering all the other parts to fix R/O pump the power cord was the only thing wrong with our old pump. New cord works great.

I purchased this power supply to replace one that had burned out. The new one lasted less than one day. Upon inspection I discovered that the power supply was only rated for 800 milliamps, which is totally inadequate.

This is the only source I could find for this transformer. My existing one was zapped by a power surge. The new unit arrived in great shape and is working well with no problems.
