MFG-13265 NXT Hunter Kit, Multicolor

The Moultrie MFG-13265 NXT Hunter Kit has been one of the best upgrades I’ve made to my feeder setup. The installation is straightforward, the instructions are clear, and everything fits tightly and feels well-built. Once installed, it runs smoothly and consistently without any issues. The digital timer is simple to program and gives you plenty of flexibility with feed times and duration. The motor is strong and throws feed evenly, which helps reduce waste and keeps deer coming back. I especially like the updated spinner design — it’s durable and does a great job preventing clogs. Battery life has been excellent, and it pairs perfectly with a 6V battery or a solar setup. The housing is sturdy and weather-resistant, holding up well in heat, rain, and humidity. If you want a reliable, modern, and easy-to-use feeder kit, the NXT Hunter Kit is definitely worth the investment. Strong performance, great durability, and very dependable in the field. Great spin feeder. Works good and with a 6 volt battery will last about three months or so depending on the spin times you set. The electric wire keeps coons and other animals from spinning the spin plate and losing all your feed. Three wing plates mount to the bottom of your feeder and the spinner just twist locks onto them.

This is a exact replacement for the feeder that didn't work this year when set out. Worked last year when set out by kids. This replacement didn't work out of the box with either lithium, NiCad, or 6v box battery. Frustrated I put red wire on negative poll, black on positive and it worked...both the older one and this replacement. Be ware the POLARITY of the system maybe screwed up on your set when you get it, just hook it up backwards. The feeder itself works well, does what it is suppose to. I find the NXT is harder to program than the other motors, as I have 2 other feeders that are made by this manufacturer but different series. I do not use all the feed time features, so if you only want 1 or 2 feed times a day save some money and go with another series in this brand.

If you are using the feeders that take these kinds of motors, this is the only one to get. If not the raccoons will tear them up. This one gives them a little shock and keeps them off of it. All the other I have used the raccoons have damaged over time. This one is still going strong. Easy to use and looks like it will last. Time will tell but I am going on a year now without issues.

I'm not a hunter. The idea was to spread a little corn in our front yard so we could enjoy watching deer graze from our front patio. Great idea, but with the important parts connecting this apparatus to the corn container being made of plastic, the deer don't take long to figure out that with a simple head-butt, it breaks right off and they get to eat all that corn at one time. The entire mechanism needs to be made of steel or it's no good, at least if you intend to leave it out for an extended time. Adding a protective varmint protective cage didn't help. The deer ripped that off in two days, knocking off and breaking the corn spreader three days later. After going through three of these, with the deer destroying them all, I'm moving up to an all steel feeder. If you try to feed your deer on the cheap, it will only cost you more in the long run.

I had to cut the delivery orifice a little larger than manufactured due to constant clogging of deer corn. I'm not making a recommendation to others to do the same, since the unit will become useless if the hole is too big. It now works fine for me. I had bought a whole Moultrie feeding system previously to this, and this unit was a replacement, because the original quickly failed. It's excellent at keeping critters from stealing corn. You'd be surprise how much loss comes from birds alone without preventative measures built in, as this item has.
