Cat Sushi Bonito Flakes, Thick Cut, 0.7 oz

My cats love this! So much so that I have to put it on their wet food every time or it’s “wrong”. So glad I found this!

My cat really enjoys these. These are larger flakes (as stated in the description) but i usually crumble them up and sprinkle over food or into cat bone broth to entice my cat to drink more. She loves the smell of them. I do find that when leaving the flakes whole, my cat has a tendency to choke a little on them. They get slippery when wet and they are harder for her to chew. Crumbling them dry prevents that issue. Cats mostly identify food by smell and the distinctly fishy aroma is delightful to my cat. If you warm up the food or liquid it enhances the aroma even more. There is a HUGE quantity in this bag so they will last a long time. They are a great value. My picky cat approved!!!

My cat goes *feral* over this. To her it's clearly an S-tier treat comparable perhaps only to churus. I've been giving her two pinches worth every evening and now, come 8pm, she'll start screaming until she gets her sushi.

My kitty was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroid disease. She has to take liquid meds with her food. I place a few Sushi Bonito Flakes on top of where I put the medicine, and she eats them all (including the medicine)! Of course, my other kitty - who is healthy, needs to get the same thing because you cannot give one something without giving it to the other. Both kitties LOVE them!!

I have a VERY finicky eater and this stuff is like magic dust! A little bit sprinkled on top and she gobbled up her food at each meal. Her two brothers live it too! It’s my go to in getting her to eat. I usually buy the thick cut as that way I can use it as a treat as well as a sprinkle crumbled in her food. It’s not stinky and smells like fresh clean fish. It’s moist enough to serve as a treat but I leave the top open to dry it out a bit so it’s easier to crumble on her food. I usually like to get the large size but often that’s out of stock so I stick with this size and have subscribed. While it’s a little pricey, not really when considering my kitty eats well because of it!

Our cat loves them, but only 1 or 2 at a time. Anything more he spits them up.

The bag was airtight and flakes had an appealing color, but when I opened the bag they predictably smelled fishy but also had a burning rubber type scent. I had no prior experience with bonito flakes and thought the odor was typical, so I offered it to my cats. Of my two cats, one cat tolerated a few flakes and then walked away, never to eat them again. My other cat sniffed it and walked away. I gave them to my mom and neither of her indoor cats touched it. Not even the stray cat wanted any.
