These are okay, but require the locking pin to be pulled out when attaching the strap to the guitar. Unlike some other straplocks (Schallers) where there is a cleaner beveled top part on the button. These have a smaller bevel and it takes just a little more time when putting on the instrument. So, they do the job and secures the guitar well, just I have gotten so used to being to just clicking my strap on the guitar without having to pull out the pin to clear the button bevel.Also, the strap lock itself does not interchange with other strap lock buttons. They are too tight and won’t slide on, but others will work on it, in case you share a single strap among a couple instruments that happen to have different strap lock buttons.

I put strap locks on all of my guitars, and these have been okay at securing my guitar straps.Two things are keeping me from giving a 5-star review.First. The threaded part on the strap locks themselves are so short with such a fine thread, installing them on your strap, especially a leather ended strap, is a real challenge. With the retaining washer in place, I had to really compress and struggle to get the nut on the threaded bolt area. The fine thread made this more challenging as I didn’t want to strip the threads.Second, there is a fair amount of play or jiggling when the strap is attached to the guitar. Yes, with the spring loaded pin I am confident the strap is secure, but there really is a lot of jiggling that takes place.As a tip, I align the locking part so that the ‘U’ shape of the strap lock faces up, do that the weight of the guitar is sitting in the bottom of the ‘U’.

The locks arrived quickly and were just as advertised. The screw length were a exact match for the screws on my Squire Strat. Simple to install and look great on the guitar when not using the strap. Also very easy to connect the strap while standing. I really like them!I tried attaching another strap (without the locks) to the buttons to see if you could use another strap in a pinch. It does work, but the shape of the button makes it a little less secure. I would use a strap without the lock in a pinch but would be really careful. I ended up buying another set!

I think this product would be great but I couldn’t get it attached to my strap. Even though it should be self explanatory how you should install these it would have been nice to have some instructions just to make sure I was attaching correctly. If your guitar strap is any thicker than an envelope you will not get the nut to screw on after putting the washer in place.
