One of THE BEST books to have when starting out on a quest to learn DSP

I have read till now the first 2 chapters of this book (reading 3rd one now) and must say everything was very well written, the writer answered almost all the dumb questions that arised in my mind while reading it and solving the exercises are like a must as it cleared a lot of things as well although there aren't any answers given so just tried to solve as many as I could, if u looking for a reference book or some book that contains everything maybe this book is not for you but as a Introduction to Dsp a very good book. On a side note you can also look at author's site about when and why this book was written!

India edition at about 1/3 cost. It's a text book - works great - you'll spend most of your time trying to understand the concepts and the thinner pages are the least of your worries. I do like Lyons presentation and I have (or I am) marking the book up heavily and this is a keeper reference manual.

Questo libro e' letteralmente, nel suo campo, la Bibbia e l'autore, il grande R.G. Lyons, ne e' il profeta!Libro completo, direi esaustivo (anche se nel DSP come in altri campi tecnici l'ultima parola, quella definitiva, non sara' mai detta...), rigoroso e pratico assieme, sicuramente didattico, con un utilissimo capitolo sui "trucchi" perlopiu' di ottimizzazione. Insomma, un libro che per gli studenti o gli "addetti ai lavori" o i semplici appassionati all'argomento e' da possedere a tutti costi. E considerando il fatto che la versione con la copertina flessibile (identica a quella con la copertina rigida, con solo una piccola nota che fa capire che e' stata inizialmente creata per il mercato del subcontinente indiano, con pagine ottimamente leggibili) costa 25€ e rotti, piu' pochi euro per la spedizione tracciabile con Fedex, proprio non si puo' perdere...

You are guided through the topics very gently. The math, principles and techniques are discussed thoroughly and are easy to follow. Would recommend to anyone interested in DSP.

The book is very good for a reader having a level of graduate student. The printing quality of this particular edition is poor ( looks like printed on a printer with insufficient toner) but the price is also low.
