Bag itself was great
I didn't want a big bag so the recon was perfect. I haven't put any tackle into it yet but it seems to have the right amount of space and compartments for my needs. The material looks like its made of tough material that can withstand abuse for years to come. The battery part of the light seems to be cheaply made though. The left side is the button to change through the lighting. The right side is a plastic button type screw that that you unscrew and insert the batteries but it doesn't stay screwed in too well. The only thing that caused me not to give it five stars was the LED light. After examining the construction of the bag, I decided to try out the light to see how bright it was and it didn't even work. I thought the batteries that was included was dead so, I put in new ones and it still didn't work. With CLC promoting the lighted backpack, I would expect the light itself to work. Especially with what it's priced at. I am happy with the purchase and would recommend the product to anyone looking for a good high quality constructed backpack. Just don't expect the light to be of great quality. Bring your own.

Built well
I gave this to my son as a gift. I don't have any personal experience with this, but it seems sturdy and well made. He seems to like it and uses it all the time. Holds plenty of gear.

Insult to the Lollipop Guild..
I bought this pack a while back, thinking that I really needed to buy something more specific to fishing than my $10 flea-market backpack. I had been loading Plano boxes, lunch, bait and everything else I could think of into my flea market pack and hiking into places (far from the parking lots) near my local waterways to fish striped bass, catfish sometimes trout.I did some research,,, OK I looked at pictures,, and this backpack seemed to have a lot of specialized fishing compartments, and I could use this pack just for fishing, and maybe be able to carry a little less because the fishing gear I had would be packed appropriately (and this pack looked like it had some neat gadgets, like the light, the glasses-case, that just looked cool.)The problem with this pack (which I didn't realize until I spent $120 and the box hit my doorstep) that it's tiny..You would expect, looking at the "big" orange opening on the front, that area would hold a normal (7"x11" or 9"x14") size plano stowaway utility box (those clear plastic snap-close trays.) Instead, you might be able to fit ONE 9"x14" if you opened the very top, pulled the divider between top and bottom, and jammed it down into the orange opening, basically making the whole bag almost useless if you wanted to carry anything over the size of one plano tray. If you wanted to use it like it was apparently designed, you would have to buy two tiny plano trays (not included) and those would fit in sideways. It's more the size of a woman's purse than a size that most men think of as a backpack. I'm a pretty big guy, so wearing this made me look only slightly less silly than if I had of bought a Pikachu backpack and worn that instead (though Pikachu might have had more storage space.) I've seen fly fishermen who carry more in their vests than this thing would carry. Now that being said, it looked well enough made, I wasn't able to test it because it was completely not what I expected when I looked at the picture, it was almost like I got a model-house-size backpack or a baby-version of an adult backpack,, so I re-boxed it and sent it right back to Amazon..I ended up buying a Calcutta Travel Backpack (the laptop size one) and have been extremely pleased with not only the size, but the construction, the forethought in design, and the capacity to carry, virtually anything I want to..So unless you're a tiny little petite fella, and you don't have much gear to carry, I can't recommend this pack..

Bad zippers and even worse warranty
I really want to like this pack but the zippers don't last long at all. I have very little use in this after one year and it's already become an issue. With that said a 90 day warranty is pretty pathetic for the price that is paid for these packs.

Great Little Backpack Bag!
I own a number of tackle boxes and bags. This is my first backpack version. And it is full of thoughtful conveniences like a light that actually lights up the inside of the bag. Very convenient design all around.A few details:1. Construction. High quality. I've only used it three times so far, but I believe it will last a long time, if not forever.2. Holds four plastic tackle trays. This is perfect for me and my son... we fish at the beach in NC. Sometimes on the Cape Fear, sometimes surf fish in the Atlantic, sometimes in the marshes and occasionally in fresh water ponds. One tray for each kind of fishing!3. Design... pockets are thoughtful. A place for our phones. A place for our pliers. etc...4. Big top section is great. It is lighted with a little LED that does the job. Great for keeping ziplock bags full of rigs, hooks and spare line. Maybe even an occasional beer.Overall, very impressed.

The retractable lanyard and plier holster are great inclusions. For single day outtings and surf fishing
For the price, this little backpack is not only rugged but holds a lot of tackle. The retractable lanyard and plier holster are great inclusions. For single day outtings and surf fishing, this will not disappoint.
