Power light goes off

I bought this modem for my mother after her original onboard internal modem stopped working. She lives in Florida and I live in Ohio and trust me, there is absolutely no way I could walk her through installing a new internal modem over the phone! She is EXTREMELY "challenged" when it comes to anything computer, but I'm happy to say that this modem was the perfect solution to that problem. I picked it up from an Amazon store for about $32 including shipping, had it delivered straight to her, and she called me and I walked her through the install in about 30 challenging minutes, but it actually was about a painless as possible. The lack of external power was a real plus as it cut down on the 'confusing' wires to walk her through. She's back online and surfing today because of this little jewel!

No driver support, no tech support and doesn't work on anything past Windows XP. This will not even work in Legacy Mode.
