Overall, this camera is extremely easy to setup and use. I tested it both indoor and outdoor. Panning is a HUGE bonus even though there is a latency during live viewing. Highly recommended over other products like Foscam or NEST.Setup======From the get go, the packaging is very well thought out. It resembles the experience of opening an Apple product. It comes with a lengthy USB cable (6ft+) as well as USB to Ethernet. Getting the camera setup was extremely simple.1) plug in power2) download app on your tablet/phone3) run through a short setup of a few basic questions (including Wifi). During setup, a QR code is presented. Face it towards the Camera and verification of setup is quick and easy.All in all, maybe 7 minutes from box opening to fully functional including downloading the app.Outdoor=======Although it's not rated for Outdoor use, we set the camera up in the backyard. We have a lot of small wildlife throughout the year. There was no moisture and maybe 53F at night, the camera held up great. The IR provided a very clear picture in the dark. The motion detection picked up our usual raccoons, rabbits, and even moths. The picture wasn't over exposed or low quality like some IR based cameras. Camera panning had no issues at all. Motion tracking does well if the subject moves at a normal human walking pace. It wasn't designed to capture scurrying animals let alone being outdoors.Indoor======For fun, the camera was hidden inconspicuously in the living room. Hiding in the other room, the mic feature allowed me to talk to my younger elementary aged kids. Obviously surprised, we carried on with a "try and find me", audio was loud and clear. Low light environment, the picture is still incredibly clear. Camera was also placed to monitor our front door area. With cars driving by, it didn't always capture motion detection, but when our postal carrier or delivery driver came around, sure enough the "Human Detection" alert came up on the phone.APP======The app is intuitive, making it easy to navigate across multiple devices. The cloud feature makes it easy to search back different points in time. The "play from cloud" button didn't always work correctly. Video would be "loading" infinitely. Thinking it was wifi issue, my phone was placed near a strong wifi source, still no go. Had to quit and re-open app before it started working. Could be isolated to my iPhone 8.Feature Requests==============- Power over Ethernet = Deploying a handful of cameras throughout the home would help the limitations of power outlets. Why mount a camera upside down on a ceiling if there's a power cord hanging from it?- Cloud function works about 90% of the time for reviewing old footage. Playback from Alerts work flawlessly.- Panning feature can be laggy at times, it's probably going to cloud and back. Panning speed (slow vs fast) will help dial in more precise viewing position.

I have been running two Nest cams to monitor my dogs and property for a couple of years so I will compare the two. I have to say that the camera on the Kami produces a much better picture. It seems to bebrighter and have much more clarity. It’s ability to pan and tilt letsit cover a much larger area than the Nest cam. The night vision is GREAT. I can keep tabs on my dogs even in the middle of the night.Setup is a breeze. It uses a QR code to pair which is really neat.With all the options in the settings, I was able to pretty mucheliminate false alerts that I have experienced with other cameras."Human Detection" helps a lot to avoid alerting me when pets areplaying and "Motion Tracking" is a pretty awesome next level AIfeature. Great camera, great buy. I can't wait to get more for therest of the house.

The media could not be loaded. Are you ever on a road trip and wonder whether you left the front door unlocked or left the stove on? It’s such a helpless feeling being 5 miles from home and wondering whether you should turn back. Being an absent minded person is just one of the reasons I bought the Kami Home camera. I had never owned a home security camera and didn’t know what to expect. The Kami was extremely easy to hook up using the step by step instructions and the QR code that you scan with your phone.Once the Kami was up and running I just had to go through some of the settings on the Kami Home phone app in conjunction with some of my phone’s settings so that I could receive banner alerts and use my phone to monitor my apartment with Kami’s 360 degree panning and easy playback of any sound or motion it picked up while I was at work. I live in an extremely quite apartment building in a quite part of town and yet the Kami picked up some of the slightest sounds coming from outside my apartment.One night I was out at an event and texted my girlfriends to be sure she got home safely from work that evening. She wasn’t responding to my texts and I was worried so I quickly looked through some of my Kami’s alerts from the time she would have gotten home and saw her walking around the apartment in her pajamas. It turns out she had a hard day at work and had gone to bed early that night. It’s great having that peace of mind – it’s like being home when you’re not home.I’m not exactly a techie so it could just be user error on my part but there seems to be a bit of a delay in the video recording so it isn’t exactly live monitoring. But so far I’ve only used it on WiFi and it does have an Ethernet option which I imagine would reduce the lag in playback.Overall I’m glad I finally joined the 21st century and got myself a home security camera. In today’s world I really appreciate the peace of mind.
