Most of the files are actually double cut
These files look like they’ll do a great job. However, the description may need an update. These files all look double cut except maybe the round file as you can see in the photo. Three are supposed to be single cut according to the description. I only took off a star because I was expecting single cut files per the description. My set also happened to come in an ABN (Auto Body Now) branded roll for whatever reason.

A very good selection and much better than expected quality.
Using this set for bone and wood carving for jewelry making. Very nice control for intricate designs and areas where a dremel can get in your way.Love the roll and tool cleaning options included. Written instructions would be a nice inclusion.

Good value for an excellent selection.
This is a real bargain, giving the DIY just about every type of file that might be needed for home projects, all wrapped in a handy folding case that not only keeps things neat but also, and more importantly, protects the cutting surfaces,

Great for the price
Used this set to slick up the action on a pistol, worked like a charm. Then tried it on a rough shotgun stock to fit the action. Couldn't be happier.

The fine print will get you every time
It's disconcerting to find the roll marked "AutoBodyNow" when it's supposed to be Redneck Convent. Gives one the impression that it's a third party product sold under a different name. The description of the products are not entirely accurate. A "stick of file chalk" indicated in the description of the roll's contents is absent from the roll, and not even in any of the product's pictures, a small magnetic level in its place. I can see the value in it, as one can easily magnet it to the opposite side of a file so you can be sure that the angle of the file's stroke doesn't change. I may use it when sharpening the knives in my butcher's block to make sure the angle of the bevel is maintained.Another major inconsistency is that the files are double-edged, despite the seller boasting otherwise and extolling the merits of single-edged files for gunsmithing and general shaping, deburring, and the like. The file brush works well, but it's of poor construction: basically an unfinished paintbrush handle and rectangular wooden paddle upon which the teeth of the brush are. However, instead of the teeth being embedded in the wood, they are fitted into a layer of some kind of leathery substance, which is glued to the unfinished paddle, the glue covering the base of the brush's teeth for better grip. It works, but I handle it carefully for fear of the teeth ripping free from the paddle. Then there is the roll itself. The plastic pockets in which the files sit are durable, but the sewn nylon edge framing the top o each pocket presents a major obstacle. Getting out the file brush and fine diamond square were feats only completed once. The nylon stitching along the interior was in tatters despite my best effort to be careful. So those two items will never be going back into their pockets. The other files sit fine, but not snug in every case, and will wear the nylon over time depending how frequently they are used. One tends to have hope when purchasing a product that it will be high quality, despite all the previous examples wherein an affordable set of tools turns out to be of cheap Chinese manufacture. The tag saying Made in China kinda gives that one away here. But I genuinely believed this would be otherwise, making my dissapointment that much greater; it's my fault for not reading Redneck Convent's details more carefully. They say that they proudly SHIP their products from the US, which can easily lead the reader into believing they proudly SELL US products. That's partly my fault for falling victim to the fine print, and partly their fault for misleading people in a manner that one would easily see as deliberate. The country of manufacture certainly explains what would otherwise be an incredible deal were they American made. But that doesn't mean the majority of the tools aren't functional; they just tend not to live very long when set against American made firearms. The high-quality steel of a Smith & Wesson made during the height of Detroit's reputation is a force to be reckoned with.
