I’ve had my Yale security system for almost 10 years now, and while the door/window contacts aren’t the prettiest things in the world ‘they’re a bit bulky and don’t fit perfectly on every frame’ they’ve proven to be absolutely rock-solid in reliability. The system itself is incredibly robust. The contacts respond instantaneously, and the alarm has never let me down. The PIR sensors can be a little over-sensitive at times, but that’s to be expected without more advanced and often more expensive presence detection. One of the best aspects is that the whole setup is completely wireless. It makes installation and repositioning around the house quick and hassle-free. With no cables Another thing I really appreciate is how seamlessly the Yale ecosystem integrates with Alexa and my wider smart home automations. For example, when I close the window at night, Alexa automatically closes the blinds too. Or when the humidity gets too high in the kitchen, it opens the blinds to remind me to air out the room. simple, clever, and really useful. Even after all these years, the system still feels modern thanks to that flexibility. I’ve had plenty of chances to switch brands, but I still feel safest sticking with Yale. Not perfect in looks, but it delivers where it matters, reliability, responsiveness, and peace of mind.

Work well with Yale Smart alsrm

Bought this to extend my Yale alarm system. I had previously had an older Yale alarm, so found the installation very simple & easy to do. I can't understand why people have problems sticking them on unless that trying to stick them to very rough surfaces, as every one I have (about 20 over the years) have never had a problem. Alexa finds them so now Alexa says "Back Door Open" every time it gets opened. You can decide for yourself if this is a good thing as it can get annoying, but the Alexa routing could be tweaked to only operate during certain times I suppose. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the end with the screw (to open for battery change) is at the opposite end from the older system, meaning I had to reposition may of the new sensors as if I had just replaced the old sensors in the same place there would be no access to the screw. I'm sure there is a good reason for this, but it just makes planning things a little more difficult. Other than that this is a great product, and I would definitely recommend it if you want to make your house even more secure.

I have a few of these around the house so I can confirm that they're good products and easy to manage through the Yale app. It even comes with an item to make the sensor bigger so that both parts are aligned better which I thought was very useful.

Needed additional sensors for the alarm. Works well, been fitted for a good few years and no issues. Easy to add to existing system.

Linked up & sync'd well enough with our new alarm - no bother at all.. shop around for price, huge variations from suppliers. Original YALE = top quality IMHO .. 5/5.

I've installed over 10 of these contacts in my house, and the only downside I can think of is power consumption 🔋. If it's a window, you'll probably change the battery once every two years. If it's a high-traffic area door, like a main door in a busy household, then probably three times a year. The battery is a 2032 🔋.
