Ambient 1: Music For Airports

Please do NOT be put off by other reviews here. I dare say there were some wrongly listed, different, versions of Music For Airports sold under this listing but I couldn't believe that the version direct from Amazon would not be the correct version and, especially since it sold at a reasonable (for this type of premium vinyl release) price I was prepared to risk the disappointment, I would be able to send it back at no cost to me if it was not the correct version, but it IS the correct version! As this is of limited availability the fact that it is available at all is result!What is there to say about this seminal Ambient album that has not already been said. I bought it on its first release and, although initially a bit sceptical, I pretty soon came to adore it. The trick is to listen to it for what it is and not compare it to what it is not, if you want a melody to hum or something to dance to there is plenty of music out there that does that, but this subtly alter your environment in ways that lift the spirit. Okay I have this on excellent remastered CD and digital formats already so the vinyl is, in many respects, a nostalgic bit of sentimentality, but WOW!!

This is, indeed, the two disc half speed version. I’d probably go for the one disc as it’s a little annoying flipping these 45rpm ones after ten or fifteen mins, but they sound great. The music on this record is stunningly beautiful and it’s a great place to start your Eno ambient journey.

Still to this day one of my favourite ambient albums

The description is misleading, this is just a standard version of the album, not the half speed

Same happened to me...single remastered album not the half-speed 2 disc release...details say 2 discs?...will return immediately!

It has still not been fixed!
