INTEL Wireless-AC 9260 2230 2x2 AC+BT Gigabit vPro

I, like many, have suffered the shame that is Killer Wireless on my XPS 13 on what was sold as a premium laptop from DELL. constant drops, poor performance even blue screens I decided to take the plunge and replace the WiFi card. The card is tiny and came well boxed but with little instuctions. Youtube is a wonderful thing and shout out to Tyler Miller for a easy to follow guide. Once I researched the process then removing the back of my XPS replacing this was simple. Remember to power off and you can remove the battery connection but if you are careful it isn't necessary. Beware of the antenna connections they need care removing (they just pull off). Once removed the old card can be safely slid out and the new Intel card fits snugly. Replacing the antenna needs a small pair of pliers to squeeze down to firmly seat the antenna plugs. Re attach the guard plate and screws put back on and away you go. Laptop (Windows 10) rebooted detected the card and was working out of the box. Bluetooth and WiFi now reliable, stable and didn't need Intel drivers but you can if you want the control app. DELL should hang their head in shame for not fitting these as standard. Don't forget to remove the old Killer software. Definitely an excellent buy and at this price was a bargain.

I had to replace my factory WiFi on my ASUS ROG G-751jt because previous warranty service team literally ripped of one antena socket from original factory WiFi and then after replacing broken screen to cover what they've done they glued antena and masked it with electrical insulating tape... For over a year I had problems with connections, WiFi instability and I had no idea whst is going on... Some friendly soul, have opened the shell, looked onto it and reported what have been " done " so we agreed that it has to be be replaced asap. After one attempt where I've ordered same exact model of WiFi the replacement was unsuccesfull because new WiFi seemed to be a cheap chineese copy of the original one. Simply Windows couldn't start new device on same exact drivers. Friendly soul gave me sn Idea that this new model of Wireless AC 9260 will be the best choice and it will work even better snd faster. I was worried because I wanted to keep original spec of this laptop. But finally I've decided to give it a go. Quick buy, quick delivery, quick replacement, Windows added new drivers automatically. New WiFi works now like a gold, super stable connections, low pings, supper happy about that choice. <3

I bought this to replace the burning train wreck that is the Killer 1535 included in my XPS 9560. I'm not sure what Dell was thinking there, as the Killer chip boasted frequent disconnects for no apparent reason and completely ignored manual roaming aggressiveness rules, choosing to hop WiFi to some public network whenever it feels like it. An example of this is when you're tethering WiFi from your phone whilst on the train. If you go through a tunnel for more than 20 seconds, the Killer chip will decide to DISCONNECT even if it's managed to establish a working connection again! Anywho, this Intel chip was relatively easy to install. The only note is that Dell has the cable colours wrong so you'll want to swap round the antenna cable colours that the chip asks for. i..e Use BLACK for Main and use WHITE for Aux. Upload bandwidth over WiFi is significantly improved compared to the Killer chip. I can upload big files to my NAS over WiFi from the other side of the house now at 60 MBps (Yes, MegaBYTES). The Killer only did about 35 Mbps. Also, no driver install was necessary. The WiFi & Bluetooth just worked as soon as I turned the laptop back on (I assume Windows 10 includes native support).

This is a doddle to install - clip it into the slot on the motherboard and boot up. Windows 10 has a driver for this and it went in without a hitch. Unfortunately, it then proceeded to connect to my wifi with the weakest signal imaginable. I was able to rectify this by installing a separate wifi antenna, which unfortunately isn't quite such a straightforward installation. With the antenna fitted, the signal is strong and rock solid.

I purchased this card (Intel Wireless AC 9260 2230) due to the constant failure of the Qualcomm wireless card installed in my 2020 Dell XPS desktop, which was unable to re-connect to my wireless hub after recent Windows updates. This is a much better card, noticeably quicker, and so far continues to work after two Windows updates. I am not at all techy, I followed my Dell Service Manual in order to fit it, and downloaded the drivers from the Intel website. It worked.

I have struggled to get this card working under Linux for months. Every main distro I have tried (Mint, Ubuntu, OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, Manjaro, BSD), even with the most bleeding edge kernels have failed to work reliably with this card. It will throw dmesg errors constantly, fail to load firmware, or simply not work at all. None of the googled workarounds have worked (dual boot win 10, disable fastboot). The only Linux distro that this card has worked reliably on was Clear Linux from Intel, but that has a package format that will have you downloading 1gb for a 10mb package! I've recently swapped it out for a £6 Atheros based card, which just works. If you're using Win10, it's fine. Linux - AVOID!

I purchased this to replace the card in my XPS 9550 which was intermittently disconnecting from wireless and had bluetooth issues that required to pair again my Logitech mouse every now and then (usually after coming out of hibernation). Relatively easy to install but note that my previous card (a dell branded one) had 3 antenna cables attached while this one only required 2 (black and white, no need for the grey one). Also make sure you look at the colour code label on the antenna pins as the two pins are inverted so you go from black - white - grey to white - black. By the way, to fully get rid of the Bluetooth issue I also had to uninstall the WIDCOMM Bluetooth driver. Now the laptop (with an addition of a new battery as well) is like new!

I bought a Dell XPS 8930 but frustratingly, Dell really skimped out on the standard wireless card they ship with, a Killer Networking / Qualcomm chip that uses really stupid drivers that are supposed to optimize your network performance but in reality often throttle download speeds as low as 0.5 Mbps and never higher than 30Mbps, After weeks of trying to sort the issue, I looked a the spec and realized the wireless card was a removeable M.2 device so ordered this Intel one off Amazon instead. Fitted it on 10 minutes on my lunch hour, no driver installation needed, all the drivers are included in Windows 10, had rock solid 160 - 200 Mbps download speeds straight away. If your new computer has similarly been fitted with a rubbish card, this is a great upgrade.

En mi caso 3 detalles a tener en cuenta. 1. Los cables de las antenas en mi caso tenían el código de color (blanco/negro) al contrario que los de la tarjeta que reemplazaba, pero llevando cuidado con eso no hay mayor problema, en mi caso hice el intercambio y todo bien. 2. Me costó un poco conectar uno de los cables de antena (no se llegaba a conectar bien del todo), el otro sin problema. 3. En linux tuve que actualizar la versión del kernel a una más moderna, compatible con el driver oficial de Intel (en intel te indican la compatibilidad del driver de la tarjeta y la versión de kernel mínimo que necesitas). En windows 10 sin problemas.

Ho da poco comprato un Lenovo Yoga 730 che, nonostante le buone prestazioni complessive, ha sempre dimostrato una connessione Wifi molto capricciosa, con velocità di connessione lenta e frequenti disconnessioni. La sostituzione del prodotto non ha risolto il problema e nemmeno gli aggiustamenti software proposti da Lenovo. Per cui, incoraggiato da alcuni tutorial visti su internet ho deciso di provare a sostituire la scheda wifi di serie Realtek con questa AC 9260. I problemi di connessione sono scomparsi completamente e anche la velocità di connessione è aumentata di molto rispetto a prima. Nessun problema di configurazione software perché la scheda è stata riconosciuta immediatamente da Windows. L'unica cosa che mi ha creato qualche problema è stata la rimozione del pannello posteriore perchè i giochi di montaggio sono talmente stretti che dopo aver tolto le viti non riuscivo a trovare una fessura sufficientemente larga per poter infilare qualcosa e togliere il pannello (possibilmente senza graffiarlo). Non avendo in casa attrezzatura specifica, ho risolto utilizzando gli utensili in plastica per sostituire i coppertoni della bici (pochi euro da Decathlon).

Der WLAN Chip wurde schnell geliefert. Ich habe diesen in einen Asus Laptop, auf dem Linux Mint läuft, eingebaut. Der Chip wurde sofort erkannt und hat sofort funktioniert. Ich erreiche jetzt eine viel bessere Geschwindigkeit.

My old wireless card (2018) was going out. This was causing Windows to BSOD, and in Linux the card would just stop showing up in the devices list after about 5-10 minutes of use. I replaced the old card with this one (very easy installation) and it did what it's supposed to do. Now I have stable internet connection on Linux, and Windows now longer crashes. Very affordable fix!
