Works but was VERY complicated to replace
This power input jack works great once installed, but it was a VERY difficult procedure from the standpoint that I basically had to remove nearly every component within the laptop to get to the original faulty power input jack. If you are good with this kind of detail work (as I think I am), then this is a perfect alternative to buying a new laptop. But if long, detailed procedures on electronics are not your thing, I might recommend finding a friend or repair shop that is good at that kind of work to replace this item.

It took a while to install but thanks to you tube I got the job done. It works great. Be gentle plugging the cable in due to the plastic tab that's used for mounting. The refurbished ones use a metal mount.

Wrong mother board end
Wasn't the correct connector for my Dell Inspiron 17 5758. The mother board side of the connection was a different plug. But I was able to use my soldering iron to resolve the issue.

Fixed the dreaded "AC adapter cannot be determined" error!
First off... will never buy another Dell laptop so long as they have that stupid "feature"! After buying replacement chargers and trying to mess with all sorts of settings... I still couldn't get our Inspiron 5755 to recognize any charger, and therefore it would not charge battery, and ran slower than molasses uphill. Took a chance on this replacement DC Jack and followed several Youtube instruction videos on how to replace it. Was intimidating, but ultimately successful... and now we have our laptop back, after over two years of it being a paperweight. If you have problems with your computer recognizing the charger and have tried everything else with no luck... this is certainly worth a shot!
