Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread - Size 10 - Victory Red (2-Pack)

I couldn't find baker's twine, well I did but it was sooo expensive, so I purchased this crochet cotton instead. I bake often and gift baked goods to neighbors. I like the old timey appearance of waxed paper tied with a few wraps of red string. So pretty, nostalgic, and eco-friendly. I also crochet so this thread will be used often. Aunt Lydia's has been a trusted brand of crochet cotton for as long as I can remember. It works up beautifully and is the absolute best for making doilies.

I do all kinds of lace crochet and for the most part really enjoy this product. My biggest disappointment is the inconsistency of thread thickness throughout the skein. It starts out great, but has sections throughout where the thread dwindles down to the thickness of a fine dental floss or single ply thread. Breakage and fuzzy sections ensue. It may have been the lot I purchased or perhaps too much tension in the wrapping process. In any case I am looking for consistency in my threads and yarns.

Aunt Lydias is the best crochet thread. I use it for my weaving.
