Stringent Restrictions on Lodging a Formal Complaint...Not Supportive
This is a sturdy and well made file cabinet that gave me 5 years of good service. Unexpectedly I could not open only the top draw. Several contacts with customer service produced basic and even written instructions suggesting using a spatula to basically force open the RIGHT HAND SIDE lever mechanism...no luck. A call from the marketing manager outlined suggestions she had received from other customers with a similar problems including calling a locksmith,forcing out the key key hole,cutting a hole in the cabinet. I destroyed the key hole and couldn't pry open the draw.On my own, I simply found inserting the spatula on the LEFT SIde in the middle of the draw pushed open the thumb switch next to the draw handle quickly resolved the problem.So what's the issue? I destroyed the locking mechanism at Hon's suggestion, I followed their instructions precisely all with no success.They must sell 10's of thousands of these cabinets/year and had NO KNOWLEDGE of a remedy to handle a simple repair. They further said they couldn't do anything for me because the paper serial # code wasn't available in the stated location or anywhere else...there goes the Lifetime Guarantee. All in all for such a basic product from a "quality" company it was a real disappointment essentially. Having provided them a solution with no thanks and no consideration to back up their strongly stated guarantee didn't seem to reflect a "quality" company.The names of the individuals I spoke with are not published for their anonymity.

good cabinet for price
This isn't the sturdiest filing cabinet ever seen but it is a great buy at a great price. it also has locking drawers that seemed to work pretty well

thin metal
The drawer glide well, but the metal sides were so thin that they got warped just by my husband maneuvering it into the office.

Arrived in good shape , no dents or scratches. Packaged very well. Bottom of box seems to have gotten wet at some time it was still a little damp. The only problem I have is the top drawer left top side is scrapping again frame opening.
