Does this model have the built in heater?

This is the standard unit without heater. The Flatmaster 2000 is the unit with a heating element. Comes in two versions Left Handed Heater 2000L ( B00O4WZH9E ) or Right Handed Heater 2000R ( B00O4WZH9E )

I've been offered a deal on one of these but it's the wrong type. Is there any reason why I could not just install it upside down?

The unit draws air from outside through the right spigot so has the heater behind the left input valve. If you hang the unit upside down the heater unit would push air to outside and you would basically have and expensive extract system that warms air while exhausting it.The only way of hanging the unit so the heater pointed inwards would be to hang it back to front which means the access lid would be against the wall? I would suggest if you cannot find an outside wall to feed the unit from the correct spigot your 'deal' is not as good as it appears!

How much noise does the unit make? and does the heater increase the noise level?

I've installed one of these and it is noticeable, it's a little bit like having the bathroom fan on. it does have a low setting which helps.

It works no more mould

Great product needs proffesional sparks to supply power and must be connected to outside to bring air into flat, so small building works required, it works and could be the answer to many condensation nightmares. Cheap to run good product. No more Mould

Resolved a damp basement

Whilst the installation was a bit fiddley, I've had this up and running for about a year now and it's really dried out my stone basement. I have it on the highest setting and it uses about 6p a day of power. Compared to £2 a day with a dehumidifier which didn't really work, it has already paid for itself. I leave the panel unscrewed for ease of cleaning the filter. My house is right next to a road with no land so it tends to gather dirt quite quickly. Definitely recommended for damp basements!
