Yes they are Hot!
These are a set of extremely hot crisps. They are definitely not for snacking and only really for challenges and dares . I managed to eat a couple before I had to give up.

Devilish
Such a cool design and immediately intimidating upon looking at the packaging. It would make a great gift. The chips themselves are very hot but lack flavour. Not that flavour matters if youre doing the one chip challenge but it would've been nice!

Looks if heat but no flavour
Ok, these things are certainly hot. You get 1 crisp per packet, and they're black hexagons. I found that they took about 30 seconds for the heat to build up, and when it did it was quite intense. For me it was intensely hot for about 2 minutes, then just purely hot for about 10 minutes. After that it does back to the dirty of lingering heat you get after a very hot curry. So I'm many ways perfect for a challenge chip. But I like my hot things too have flavour, and these have none, it's just pure heat, so I'm docking 1 star for that. Oh, and the cost is just ridiculous. ยฃ6 for the lack would be expensive but acceptable. But ยฃ6 each is just stupid.

It was hot
If you are going to do the One Chip Challenge then these are probably as good as any, especially if you are going to be doing it with friends. At first the price takes your breath away more than the chip itself but that's the ball-park amount for these things. The packaging is a work of art in itself and helps to build the tension and expectations of what is to come. I am a hot chilli lover anyway so I wasn't expecting to be in pain or rushing for that glass of milk. On opening one packet I was taken aback to be confronted by a black chip! It's all part of the hype, it's a colouring, they haven't burnt it nor has it gone off. So let's pop in in my mouth and see what happens. I have found from past experience that chilli powder or oil on your lips often numbs them to the point of discomfort so I always try to get it past my lips from the start. My tongue was quick to tell me that there was a very hot chilli substance in my mouth however, as I chewed on it and the flavour spread around my mouth. it never reached the point that I found it unbearable or needed to get the milk or yogurt. It's a fun item but there are risks and sufficient warnings on the box Never give one of these to an unsuspecting person as a prank. A lot of people may not tolerate it as well as I did.

Fun game, not cheap, but the price here is reasonable when contrasted with alternatives on Amazon
For context I've been eating standard chillies for 30+ years, regularly have the Naga, Habanero and the occasional Phall curries (to experiment, I don't see the point) when it's more a challenge than enjoyable flavour. I've also had C-reaper sauces etc. The packaging is excellent, everything is sealed, the warnings were appropriate. This was certainly very hot, but not unbearable, however it will be to anyone that doesn't indulge (they won't get past the first nibble so don't waste a whole one). It's a fun game, expensive but these are sold at the going rate with competitors, so taking that into account a reasonable price. I don't think it makes a difference if you consume a whole one or just half, but your mileage may vary. I actually only ate half, but after a few minutes the endorphins kicked in and couldn't resist eating the rest. I've not done the game before so may be off the mark, I expected a crunch like a tortilla chip, but it felt stale and lacked crunch in the mouth (my only reason for one less star). It's also covered in a black powder that gets everywhere, but that probably a good thing to remind you to wash hands immediately after and you don't touch anything sensitive. As I can't imagine someone being tricked into eating one for the same reason. I would certainly use these again (though trying to find competitors in fiends and family is tricky). My review apparently failed some amazon guideline, the original including pictures etc are lost/not available (not the greatest experience when they ask you to edit but mean restart from scratch).

Extreme chilli crisp challenge.
I have a pretty solid resistance to spicy food, I can eat most things. These included. Yes, they are hot. Very hot! They will certainly make your eyes water and should be treated with care. However, this isn't a lasting heat, and it's confined to the mouth (if you've ever tried extreme hot sauce, you'll know what I mean). A few minutes after eating, the 'pain' level subsides with no lingering after effects. They are very nicely packaged and certainly look the part. And when you tear open the packet, you're presented with a very ominous looking black chip. All very theatrical. That's where the best of it ends. As far as flavour goes, there isn't much. But these aren't sold on their palatable deliciousness. As for cost? ยฃ6.00 per crisp? ยฃ30 for the box? This is an expensive challenge.
