Strawberry Fields: Central Park's Memorial to John Lennon

I hadn't been to Central Park in many years so very recently took my Australian friend there and we saw John Lennons Imagine and of course took a pic of it. I had sent this book to him and I received the same book for my birthday. So now we can relive that moment again and again. The book shows the making of Imagine with pics of John with his wife Yoko and Yoko with their son. Plus many beautiful pictures in all the different seasons of New York City.

The author has done a wonderful job of documenting the story of not only Strawberry Fields but things around it -- from the building of the Dakota to the story of Central Park as a whole. The stories are supported with wonderful high-quality images. There are a few very poignant moments in the book as well, especially for Lennon fans, and the reader is likely to drum the driving piano rhythm of "Imagine" while humming or singing the song's lyrics on the book's last page. All in all, an enlightening and moving petite gem for a coffee table or bookshelf.

This is a truly exquisite thing. It's beautiful to look at, to touch, and to read. It would make a perfect gift for New York lovers, or John and Yoko fans, or any book person. Even the inside of the dustjacket will surprise you. I'm going to order more for gifts. I'd like to state that I do not know the author, or anyone associated with it's production nor do I receive payment of any kind from anyone about this book. I was just so delighted to find this book inside the parcel. It's beautiful.

Great little book; a jewel! I learned a lot about the history of the area where Strawberry Fields is situated in Central Park and also learned more about John Lennon. Lots of nice pictures!!

Don't buy this expecting a gorgeous book you can display in your living room. This is a beautiful, albeit deminutive, book. Think of a book Thumbellina might have on her coffee table. It's about seven inches square. I was disappointed in the size, but I loved the book itself, once I got my specs on.

This book is really a poem dedicated to John Lennon and to all the people who believe in love and peace.

I paid the full price for a brand new book and received a used one, aggravating!!!

Done well. I always go there when I'm going to be in the city. John's spirit occasionally is there too.

This is a truly beautiful book, which I stumbled upon quite by chance.We have been to New York, and placed flowers, on John's memorial,but quite apart from that, this is beautifully illustrated, and worth every penny.Love it, highly recommened!!!

Really interesting read

My daughter regretted not buying this when visiting Central Park so she was especially pleased to receive pleased this beautiful book.
