If you want moka pot buy this only
This is the best moka pot. Period. Nothing like this. If you're using some cheaper chinese or Indian moka pot, and wonder how the you tube vidios show the frothy beautiful stream of coffee decoction coming out of the nozzle, because your device only squirt or sneeze, this IS the difference. I've used quite a few cheaper alternatives. Nothing comes to close. In built quality, in performance and lastly in taste of coffee made with this. 1. Use hot water . Boil water seperately and use in it. Use cloths to hold the base while tightening the upper part as the hot water will make the lower part scaldingly hot in no time. This cause less time of this on the stove top, so less bitter taste. No chance of burning coffee grounds. 2. Use coarser ground. On timemore C1, use 16 clicks- 22 clicks setting. 16 click will produce the beautiful frothy thick decoction flow. 22 clicks will produce watery decoction. Do not use espresso grind. 3. Don't tamp 4. Transfer decoction as soon as flow seems complete to prevent over-cooking. Some water always remain inside lower chamber. You can also transfer the lower chamber below running water or cover lower part with water soaked towel once flow seems complete to prevent over-cooking. 5. Clean thoroughly. This prevevents bitterness. 6. If you have less members buy smaller ones. Using less than optimum coffee ground and less than optimum water doesn't taste good. So this will make coffee for six. If you have 4 members, each day you might have to throw away decoction for two.

Moka pot base getting stained with black spots but coffe is great
The product is ok. But I am facing issue white deposits in the pot's base along with black spots. I have used the product only a couple of times as of now therefore this issue should not come so soon. Is there anyway I can get the pot replaced. It seems the material is getting corroded very easily. Still waiting for a reply from the seller. Is there no way to get an answer? I got response from the seller. Conversation with them was satisfactory and they made sure the stains are not an issue u less the coffee taste is accected. Also, coffee brewed in this is great!

Quite expensive, but an excellent product
I bought the 6 cup version. Some of the points which may not be highlighted in other reviews: Pros: 1. The decoction gets done quickly (3-4 mins). 2. The decoction is thick and leaves a film of trail when drawn (not watery). 3. Is versatile: Can be served directly as small espresso shots served in demitasse cups, but can also be used in lieu of filter coffee decoction with milk and sugar without losing the originality of filter coffee taste (I used regular South Indian coffee grounds). 4. Thorough extraction of flavour and essence - There is no point of reusing the used grounds for a second extraction, since the first extraction itself is thorough. Cons: 1. Very very expensive even for an international product. USA Amazon prices for the same product are 20-30% cheaper. 2. Cleaning needs some attention as the different parts need to be separated out and cleaned with plain water and no detergent.

Blown away....
Loved the product, I hail from a ‘South Indian’ family of coffee lovers, was apprehensive about how the rest of my family would react and was pleasantly surprised . Everyone else in my family swears by drip coffee ( filter coffee made in brass percolators) made traditionally, and generally hate espresso and coffee made in most coffee makers. I Have tried multiple coffee makers - electric, stovetop percolators, cold press etc. from various brands each and usually found that the coffee was never up to the mark for my family. Other stove top percolators - I found them to be very very fussy, get one thing slightly off and the coffee would vary drastically. However I decided I would make a morning ritual out of making coffee with Bialetti stove top coffee make and bought this product for myself keeping the rest of my family as a maybe ( coz I love my coffee black unlike the rest of my family). To my surprise my usually choosy coffee ‘connoisseur’ family also instantly fell in love with the coffee maker. Today every one in my family uses it to make coffee. We mostly add milk/cream to ‘espresso’ - which this product is technically not - espresso is usually brewed at ~6 bars pressure however I read somewhere that the stove top percolator roughly achieves ~1.5 - 2 bars only. P.S ended up having to change the texture of the grind to get best results - I find that a fine grind is better than the medium grind suggested by the manufacturer.

An excellent and inexpensive way to make very good quality espresso
It's taken me 3 years to get round to writing this - it just slipped through the net. At least this review is based on long experience so I doubt that this Bialetti still holds any surprises. If you don't fancy investing in an electric espresso machine this Bialetti is definitely the next best thing. At the price you can't really go wrong. I'm not a coffee connoisseur by any means, I just enjoy a good espresso and an electric machine is undoubtedly a quick, effective, simple if expensive option. However, the Bialetti exudes charm and style. It is a very appealing piece of equipment. In terms of cleaning it is no more involved than cleaning the basket of an electric machine. The real difference is simply that you have to heat the water yourself but this takes mere moments. I endorse the comments of others: use hot but not boiling water; don't over fill it; use a Moka pot grind. Allow yourself no more than a quick, satisfying peek at the coffee erupting through the pipe before promptly closing the lid. Take it off the heat as soon as the coffee begins to flow. This simple device makes, for me, perfect espresso although it might just lack the depth and intensity of an espresso machine. But it's a close run thing in my judgement. The device is robust, well made and has already given three years of reliable service. In conclusion this is an excellent and inexpensive way to make very good quality espresso and there is virtually nothing here to go wrong - I guess one day the gasket will perish so you might as well buy a spare when you buy the pot. Highly recommended.

Great coffee, but read the instructions
First of all, this makes great coffee, perfect for lattes and even good enough to drink black. Make it strong enough and you'll have yourself some espresso that honestly tastes great. Tip: preheat your water in a kettle so your coffee doesn't brew for too long while the water heats up. This will avoid getting sour or bitter coffee. It's pretty easy to clean, I find it easier to clean than a coffee machine, since there's no electricity and you can actually submerge the pieces in water. A sponge works just fine. Takes about as much time as brewing drip coffee if you use hot water, maybe a little longer if you don't preheat your water. IMPORTANT: Dear God, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!! This is by no means the product's fault, but the instructions clearly say not to put the burner on high heat. Well I didn't read properly, and made the mistake of leaving the lid open so I could watch the coffee come out. Basically, the water heated up too fast which created too much pressure, and boiling coffee spewed out the open lid towards me. I dodged it and was fine, but I sure did learn my lesson. Overall, great product, great coffee!
