Slim and fast
I absolutely love this 256GB External SSD Hard Drive. It's slim, sleek, and seriously fast—everything you want in portable storage. Right now I'm using it for backups, but honestly, I could run programs directly from this if I wanted to. The transfer speeds are impressive, and I was able to set it up instantly on my MacBook Pro without any fuss. Just plug it in and go. It's totally compatible with the Apple ecosystem, which is great because I could skip that reformatting step. Truly plug and play. One feature I especially appreciate is the USB-C adapter that comes with it. My laptop doesn't have a USB-A port, so this adapter has been a lifesaver. And added bonus—I'm using that adapter for lots of other devices too! It's solid quality and even has a little lanyard attached so I don't lose it. That alone adds value to the whole package. The drive also came with a soft protective bag (which I might repurpose for something else) and a removable silicone wrapper that gives it a breathable bit of protection without adding bulk. I love little touches like these that add value and make an otherwise boring-looking black external hard drive into a statement piece. This stylish little hard drive is compact enough to fit easily in a backpack pocket, handbag, or even pants pocket—it's smaller than an iPhone but packed with tons of storage. It looks good, sets up fast, transfers data quickly, and is a great value even at the current $55 price tag (though do keep an eye on it because it was lower when I ordered). If you need reliable, portable storage that works seamlessly with Mac, this is it. Highly recommend!

lightweight and fast SSD
I'm pretty impressed with the Kexin SSC. It is a fairly compact, lightweight drive that easily fits into a pocket or purse. It comes in a sufficiently thick rubber sleeve that provides a good bit of protection. The size of the memory at 256GB is sufficient for most storage tasks. It boasts of a high transfer rate at 500 MB/s. I was actually able to load a 34GB file of pictures onto it in just 34 seconds. That's decent. It comes with an adapter to connect the USB cable to a USBC compatible smartphone. That makes sense with USBC really becoming the "common" way to connect devices at the moment. If you still have a lightening connection, however, you'll have to find another way. My only issue with the device is that the connecting cable is very short at around 7 inches. As for value, the KEXIN is on the top end of the price range for a 256GB SSD portable storage unit. It seems to be well made, however, and comes with a nice little cloth carrying bag. The instructions are minimal, but the device is basically a "plug and play" - very intuitive and easy to use.

I am impressed with this little drive…
This appears to be a good quality storage drive…here are the things I like about it… 1. The size. I LOVE the size. It’s small, fits comfortably in my hand, and it doesn’t take up much room on my desk. 2. The cover. I LOVE the soft, silicone cover. It feels nice in my hands, protects the drive and is a soft/beautiful blue color. 3. Connection. It connects easily. It comes with a short cable. I LOVE the length of the cable—no long, messy cord taking up space on my desk. The cable has a USBC connection that connects to the drive, and a USB connection on the other end. Its comes with a USBc converter which is wonderful. It connects easily to my Mac and I don’t have to invest in a separate converter. 4. The Performance. The most pivotal part of this hard drive is its performance. It functions exceptionally well. It pops up on my screen within seconds of plugging in, it backs up my files quickly and downloads them quickly, as well. When I work directly from this drive it’s as efficient as when I drag files from it to my laptop and work. I experience no drag at all while working on files loaded to this drive. 5. 512G. There is plenty of room on this hard drive to sufficiently back up my files. I can back up all of my files and have plenty space for more. 6. Convenient backup. I backup photos, music and graphics files. I like having a backup of all my documents, this is a great place to store them. It’s also great for listening to my music and books. Everything in one place makes my books and music easy to find. There are many things that I like about this little hard drive. Overall, this has been an excellent hard drive for me, and I plan to purchase a few more. It’s lightweight, comes with a carrying pouch, and functions beautifully.

KEXIN 256GB External SSD Hard Drive
I’m very happy with this SSD hard drive so far. It’s encased snugly in the colorful silicone sleeve, and comes with a small carrying pouch just big enough to hold the drive, and maybe the cable with adapters. The cable included is pretty short, about 6 inches, but it’s good quality. This drive holds the full amount of data advertised and formats to 238 GB. It started copying files at a speed of 220 Megabytes but slowed down to only 20 Megabytes about halfway through. Still a good little drive for the price.

Small, simple, and easy to set up
Being a techy, I appreciate when something just works. This was super easy to connect to my computer and formatting it took no time at all. Plug it in, set it up, done. It’s tiny and compact, which I really like. Doesn’t take up space and it’s easy to throw in a bag without even noticing it’s there. The case it comes with is a nice touch too. I actually love that they included that. It keeps it protected and makes it feel a little more premium. Overall, simple, compact, and easy to use. I’m happy with it.

Comparable to USB stick but much faster
This 256GB external SSD hard drive has the same overall function that a USB stick has but obviously is much bulkier than a USB stick. The big advantage to this is the speed of 500MB/second. To put in comparison I transferred a 500 MB file from my computer to a USB stick and it too 44 seconds. The same file transferred to this drive took 14 seconds! The drive comes with a dongle and has a USB-C and USB-A adapter to fit either connection. I did test the drive using just the USB A plug versus the USB C plug and there was no difference in performance. Overall, if you are looking for transfer speed, this drive is the one to get. If speed is not that important, I would stick to a USB stick drive.

Everything passed
I wasn’t familiar with KEXIN before testing this drive, so I ran it through defensive scans first - antivirus, malware, and checks for embedded attacks. It passed everything cleanly. After formatting it, I tested the speeds and they lined up with expectations. Short transfers hit around 500 MB/s, while larger transfers over 5GB settled into a steady 350 MB/s. The drive ran cool during testing and worked without issues on both Linux and macOS. The included cable and USB-A to USB-C adapter are handy since not everything has moved to Type-C yet. For 256GB of portable storage, this does the job.

Nice little external hard drive
I grabbed this external hard drive to carry around in my pocket or backpack. The transfer speeds are amazing. Moving large files like videos, photo libraries, or backups is fast and smooth, with no frustrating slowdowns, making it a reliable option for both work and personal use. One of its biggest strengths is its size. The drive is impressively small and compact, easily fitting in your pocket or a small pouch without adding any noticeable bulk. This makes it perfect for people who are always on the go and need dependable storage they can carry anywhere. The rubber protective cover is another great touch. It adds peace of mind by helping protect the drive from minor drops, bumps, and everyday wear, which is especially useful for travel or frequent use. It feels durable without making the drive bulky or heavy. Compatibility is also well thought out. The included USB-A to USB-C adapter is extremely convenient, allowing the drive to work seamlessly with both older and newer devices without needing to buy extra accessories. Plug-and-play functionality makes setup effortless across laptops, desktops, and other supported devices. It’s a practical, well-designed storage solution that offers outstanding value for anyone needing fast, reliable, and truly portable external storage.
