R1234YF & 1234YF AC Adapter Kit, Quick Coupler Valve Tool for Automotive Air Conditioning Service, Fits 1/4” & 1/2” HVAC Charging Hoses (7 Pack)

I used these to convert a spare 134a manifold set to 1234yf. I installed new hoses and flushed the manifold to eliminate cross contamination of the incompatible oils. The pressures are similar enough for the gauges. These fittings lock in place when open and don’t leak. The connection to the test fittings is secure without any rocking. I used them twice now without any issues. I have seen cheap adapters damage Schrader valves and their brass housings. These adapters did not.

This quick coupler kit seems a good quality. It can be used to connect car AC ports to the AC gages or directly to R1234yf or R134a refrigerant can. The most important it has a valve on both high and low side so you can stop filling refrigerant at any moment. The price is low so it can be affordable by any driver.

I've had bad luck with these quick release adapters in the past but this kit was different. The issue was that the concave indent on the tip of the valve actuator in the center of these fittings was off center, as well as the actuator itself. Granted, the discrepancy wasn't pronounced, but it was enough that every time you attached the fittings to the high and low sides of the A/C system and opened the valves, they would absolutely ruin the schrader valves by bending the hell out of them. Of course the schrader valves no longer sealed after that. This scenario made the adapters unusable. These don't have that defect thank goodness and work/seal just fine. So if you need to adapt your R134a gauge set to handle the R1234YF systems this kit is a viable option.

I got these for use on my A/C manifold gauge set designed for R134A systems. Installing onto the gauge set was straightforward. I just had to screw off the R134A adapters and screw these on. These R1234YF adapters look and feel well-made, and worked without issues. Unlike the R134A adapters that came with the gauge set, these adapters can’t be installed onto the car’s A/C ports without first closing the valve on the adapter. With the valve opened, the locking collar can’t slide up for attaching to the port (see photo). This is a nice feature. Overall, I’m happy with these adapters. They work well with my A/C manifold gauge set.
