The 4-Week Middle School Grammar Workbook: Quick, Fun, and Easy Daily Practices and Games [Chen, Alex] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The 4-Week Middle School Grammar Workbook: Quick, Fun, and Easy Daily Practices and Games Review: Comprehensive grammar book for middle school with good examples and activities! - I appreciate the types of examples in this book. There is a sense of traditional, simple, light-hearted examples. One example is for the prepositions section where sentence-level examples talk about building a fort with blankets and there are references to animals such as squirrel scampering up a tree. In other words, there is a sense of wholesomeness in the examples. I also appreciate some exercises such as the puzzle where you color all the verbs one color and the nouns another color, etc., the scrambled sentences, the homophone bingo and passive voice maze. There are lots of cloze procedure or fill-in-the-blank exercises that are helpful and which revolve around stories. In regard to the grammar, all major English grammar points are covered and explained well. There are traditional examples of acronyms or mnemonic devices to help remember rules such as FANBOYS for the conjunctions. There is also a helpful verb chart with all 12 tenses. There is also a chapter for punctuation including commas which is very helpful. This could also be helpful for ESL students at the intermediate or early advanced level. Review: Great tool for learning grammar - Proper grammar is so powerful. Your use of grammar shapes how people perceive your intelligence. Therefore, it’s very worthwhile to invest in your child’s grammar education. This book is a great tool to do that! It’s jam-packed with information on tons of grammar issues. The pages are well-designed and engaging, and each lesson featured a creative activity that gets you thinking about what you learned. I did notice that some of the vocabulary used in the book seemed a bit advanced for a 4th grader. That’s not a bad thing, as it can help kids learn new words, but it is something to be aware of before you buy.

Impressive Workbook!
The 4-Week Middle School Grammar Workbook was surprisingly a really great workbook. Honestly, I was expecting an average workbook, but every time I turned the page, I was impressed by how the author clearly took the time to make the workbook engaging for middle schoolers, all while teaching grammar... not an easy lift! If you're looking for a grammar book for your middle schooler, this is a great one.

Great Grammar Resource
This workbook is a great fit for our homeschool routine. The lessons are quick, the explanations are clear, and the activities are fun enough to keep my kids interested. I can use it as a review for the older kids and a learning tool for the younger ones. I appreciate the four‑week structure—it makes grammar practice feel more manageable and consistent.

Solid information for 5/6th
While this book contains valuable material relating to grammar, it is geared more toward lower level students. I would say, depending on where your child is, this more for 5/6th graders rather than middle school. The activities are engaging and important topics are covered simply, but my 4th grader breezed through the first 3 weeks with little difficulty.

Excellent Book!!
Excellent book, and I mean it. This is hands down everything you'd want for a book of this type: it has a clear structure, engaging images, a wide variety of exercises, and it is very well adapted for the intended audience. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to improve a kid's grammar.

Fun grammar activities for kids!
I absolutely LOVE this grammar workbook. As a middle school ELA teacher, finding the right pathway through grammar lessons can be tough. This book makes it easy; it starts with the "building blocks" - the nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives - and moves on to the more difficult grammar concepts. The activities are fun and I can definitely see how a student could forget that they're doing actual work! The images and activity titles were great, too. A "Final Polish" activity allows kids to put it all together and proofread a paragraph to apply what they've learned throughout the workbook. From a teacher's perspective, I also appreciate that there are quizzes at the end of the book, along with the answer key and explanations for the grammar cumulative. It certainly takes the guesswork out of it.

Este workbook consegue transformar a gramática em algo divertido e acessível para alunos do ensino fundamental II. As atividades curtas e diárias evitam o cansaço e ajudam a manter a consistência sem sobrecarregar. Os jogos e desafios tornam o aprendizado mais natural e menos mecânico. É uma ótima opção tanto para reforço escolar quanto para uso em casa ou durante as férias.

This workbook makes grammar simple and surprisingly enjoyable for middle schoolers. The short daily lessons and games keep kids engaged without feeling overwhelmed. Perfect for summer practice or homeschooling. My child gained confidence quickly and never complained about using it. Highly recommended!

The 4 Week Middle School Grammar uses a variety of engaging activities to keep kids interested. These are not your regular grammar sheets; rather, there are codes, colouring, word searches, crosswords, fill-in-the-blanks, etc. Most of the middle schoolers I know would require an adult to sit down and assist them with this book. This could work well as a tutoring resource (why I bought it), but it would be very difficult and overwhelming for a kid to do the whole book independently (unless they were ahead of their class looking for bonus work). It also covers a lot of grammar that is often not covered in English as a first language, but would be a great tool for ESL learners (ex: dangling participles, gerunds, appositives, etc.) I didn't know what these grammar terms were before reading the book, but now I do. Alex Chen crams a lot of information into each day. I enjoyed the variety of activities, although if your child learns best through repetition and routine, then this book goes too fast as there is only one or two activities per grammar point, also the style of activities changes every day. The book has good explanations and has space for writing, although that is minimal, as many of the activities are circling and fill-in-the-blank. A great tool for one-on-one tutoring!
