Tempo 1% Dust Very Effective in my application.
I noticed that bees were going through a crack in the mortar between the bricks on the front of my garage. I caulked the hole and a couple hours later the bees had chewed through the caulk and were back to business as usual. I next plugged the hole with mortar, and they chewed through the mortar before it could set up. I refilled the crack with mortar and covered the area with a board to give the mortar a chance to set up which it did. To my amazement, the bees found two other areas to enter the same nest. I went to a local store and bought two cans of a leading brand of hornet/wasp/bee spray and used it to saturate the two new entrances to the nest. The spray killed the bees it touched but after an hour or, so it was if I had not sprayed at all. The bees were back like nothing happened. I was talking to my brother about this, and he recommended two products that he used so I researched them and ended up buying Tempo Powder based on the reviews which were very encouraging. I used a bulb duster to spray Tempo Powder into each of the two areas the bees were using to enter behind the brick. It was obvious that they did not like the powder, but I worried about its effectiveness because I was not seeing bees falling to the ground dead as if I was using a spray. After making sure I had thoroughly sprayed both entrances I left the area because the bee activity was increasing. I came back to the area later in the day and was happy to see no bee activity at all. I checked for activity over the next few days and found none. It’s now about a month later and still no bee activity. I am very happy with this product. For my application, it exceeded my expectations and solved the problem. I have found that the leading brand sprays will kill bees on contact, but they will not stop the activity when you cannot spray the nest itself. Tempo Powder is my go-to product now for hidden bee hives. Just thoroughly dust the entrances and let the powder work its magic. The Tempo Power seems kind of pricey, but I am glad I took a chance on it based on the reviews and can only say that after seeing how it worked for me, it was well worth the initial cost and based on the amount I used in my first application, the 1.25 pounds you get should last you a long time. When I think about the cost and amount used for one application, Tempo Power is probably just as cost effective as buying several cans of normal spray at the store.

Works and works fast!
If you have yellow jackets, this is what you need. I had a hive behind the brick fascia of my house, I could see the crack they were flying in and out of all day long. Started with two types of can spray, one was a foaming spray. Outside of the few that seemed to drown in it...nothing. Decided I needed to get up close and really get inside the entrance. Bought a cheap ($25) bee suit from Amazon since I had to climb a ladder to reach it and figured if they swarmed me it would not be an easy retreat. Also bought some D-Fense Dust after doing some reading (instead of Delta Defense because I cheeped out). Puffed the D-Fense Dust into the hole at night when there was no activity, didnt even really need the bee suit. Next day, no difference, still swarming around the entrance. Did the D-Fense dust 2 more nights with still no results. One night I even bought a can of the foaming spray and emptied that into the crack. More research led me to Tempo. First morning after dusting the entrance there was a dramatic decrease in activity around the entrance. The next night I did the same treatment with a puffer to get the dust into the crack. Next day, nothing. Not a singe yellow jacket in the area. Save yourself time and wasted money on other products. This stuff works and it works fast. Use a mask and probably eye protection as the dust can get into the air. Definitely seems best to treat at night if you have any concerns of getting stung.

ideal solution for ground wasps - yellowjackets
I've used Tempo for years, mostly for ground wasps, but it kills any insect. I've also loaned my Tempo to friends who've had good success. It works very well, but it is not a 'knockdown' insecticide. It takes a day or so to kill the wasps, and for the wasps to move the powder around inside the nest. HOW TO USE THIS FOR GROUND WASPS (E.G., YELLOWJACKETS): [They aren't 'BEES', folks! Bees are beneficial and do not attack you unprovoked.] Carefully note the location of the hole during the day. Return after dark. Put on long sleeves and gloves, go out with a flashlight, and find the hole. Shake the Tempo container a bit (if it gets moist, it may cake), then squirt about a 0.5 - 1 teaspoon of dust into the hole, and around the immediate opening -- on the soil where wasps tend to crawl as they are entering/exiting. It doesn't take much dust, but YMMV. Wait a day and then observe the nest from a safe distance. You may need to repeat your treatment for larger colonies. A jug of this dust lasts for years and treats many nests. I have treated dozens of ground nests this way, and have never been stung nor attacked at night. Every year I find about a dozen nests on my property, which has prairie, rock walls, etc. The wasps seem to prefer drier soils in sunny locations. But last year I used Tempo to treat a colony that had six openings within a 7 foot area, under shade with rich moist soil. It's best to approach slowly and to study a nest area from a safe distance, watching where the wasps are entering/exiting. But caution: especially in August or late summer, the wasps may attack you just from walking nearby. I learned about this product from the invoice a professional pest control service left after treating a wasp colony living in the outside walls of my home. He used a duster, and, working during the day, while wearing all the beekeeper protective regalia. It worked well for him, and it does the DIY job just as well.

Unbelievably Effective - Goodbye Bees!
I recently had a very troubling issue with a bee nest that had taken up residence behind the siding of my house. It was causing a lot of concern for my family's safety, and I tried numerous products in an attempt to resolve the problem, but nothing seemed to work. That is until I discovered Bayer Tempo 1% Dust For Insects. I was amazed at how quickly and effectively this product dealt with the bee infestation. I applied the dust as directed, and within just one day, the hive was completely eradicated. After struggling for so long with other products that promised results but failed to deliver, Tempo was a breath of fresh air and a huge relief. The 1.25 lbs container provided more than enough product to handle my bee problem, and the ease of application was a significant plus. The instructions were clear, and the product was easy to distribute, making the entire process hassle-free. One thing that stood out to me about Tempo was how well it targeted the bees without causing harm to the surrounding environment. I felt good knowing that I was using a product that was both effective and responsible. In conclusion, if you're facing an insect problem, especially bees, I can't recommend Bayer Tempo 1% Dust For Insects enough. It outperformed every other product I tried and delivered fast, effective results when I needed it most. A definite five stars from me!

Yay! Dead yellowjackets!
My porch was inhabited by a large nest of yellowjackets for most of the summer. I tried a few spray killers that did nothing but make them angry. At my wits' end, I purchased this Tempo dust and a bulb applicator to be able to reach into cracks. I followed the application instructions. The next day, I had a small pile of dead and dusty yellowjackets on the ground by the nest. If you have an infestation in a wall, try this. The dust will get where it needs to go and the flying monsters will die. Total win.

Works with Fiberglass Insulation
I was worried that this wouldn't work in a wall cavity with fiberglass insulation. True to the other reviews, this product took care of the yellow jackets in the wall even with insulation. I drilled a few holes where I could hear them buzzing just large enough for the tip of my duster about 12" apart in a grid. I filled the holes in with spackling immediately after dusting. The nest was probably large, but after about 48 hours there was no activity.
