That's the shout from conductor Martha Day Zschock, who has taken children and their delighted parents on Journeys Around Boston, New York, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Maine, Nantucket, and Cape Cod since starting this bestselling series in 1999. Hop aboard the L, circle the Loop, board a water taxi, walk the waterfront! From the Lincoln Park Zoo to Wrigley Field, from the Magnificent Mile to Navy Pier, Journey Around Chicago from A to Z takes readers on a tour of the Second City that is second to none. Over 250,000 copies of Zschock's work are in print, perhaps because Zschock is not only a brilliant artist but also a committed educator, whose books are embraced by teachers and principals nationwide. Review: Stunning illustrations and Interesting Content. - This book has stunning illustrations - so much detail - and plentiful information on the city is really FUN and interesting for kids as well as adults. I love it! Obviously, it doesn't cover nearly as much as a travel guide, so not for someone looking for something super comprehensive, but it's so worth it for the aesthetic. Review: ' and I just loved it! With our state bird as tour guide ... - All things Chicago get my attention! :-) This was one of those 'coffee break' books I picked up to 'test drive,' and I just loved it! With our state bird as tour guide (his cameos in the beautiful illustrations are adorable!) each page has nice reminders of home -- and some things I didn't know about. I've taken a few journeys around Chicago myself, as a kid and as an adult (I know what I like and remember), so it's always nice to see my hometown through different eyes. I smiled all the way through this cute book! ## Features - Used Book in Good Condition ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #625,335 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) #420 in Children's American Local History #1,601 in Children's Books on the U.S. #4,156 in Children's Multicultural Story Books | | Customer Reviews | 4.9 out of 5 stars 9 Reviews | ## Images ![Journey Around Chicago from A to Z - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71DcXIx8aiL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stunning illustrations and Interesting Content. *by W***L on December 26, 2023* This book has stunning illustrations - so much detail - and plentiful information on the city is really FUN and interesting for kids as well as adults. After reading the book one can make a list of where he or she would like to go and the sights to see in Chicago. The book is beautifully illustrated with a little WALDO theme inserted. Children and adults will enjoy finding a cardinal on every page.I recommend the book to 7 and older especially to those who like to travel. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ie/products/8047621-journey-around-chicago-from-a-to-z](https://www.desertcart.ie/products/8047621-journey-around-chicago-from-a-to-z) --- *Product available on Desertcart Ireland* *Store origin: IE* *Last updated: 2026-10-20*
