Bacta War X Wing Book Four

A fun continuation of the series.
After her escape from Coruscant, Ysanne Isard flees to Thyferra, the largest source of bacta in the galaxy, making herself the ruler of the planet. To avoid political conflicts, the New Republic decides not to interfere, which prompts the entire Rogue Squadron to resign. They make her base on a space station above the planet Yag'dhul, home of the Givin. From their base, they strike bacta convoys and redistribute the product to the planets in dire need. Isard punishes these planets until she is forced to act against their enemies in Thyferra, until a final confrontation ensues.Another of the newly created unabridged audiobooks again masterfully narrated by Marc Thompson is a delight and carries over the series to new heights. Might not be as exciting as the previous ones, but this is a good continuation of the series, and our favorite characters shine here. Recommended!

A romantic military science fiction novel
And another sequel to the wonderful Star Wars Episode VI.I love how the X-Wing books are focusing more on the military aspect and the non-Jedi heroes of the New Republic. And I love romance, all the time, so this is also very welcoming. If you like a romantic military science fiction novel, don‘t read this book, read all of them. And trust me, they are way better than these Episode VII to IX movies.

Fitting End of This Section
Wow, what a ride! I had not read the X-Wing series before and when the first four books in the series were given unabridged audiobooks, it was time for me to check this series out. I have enjoyed these books immensely. The Bacta War was a wonderful wrap up to a great mini series. After the dramatic events of the Krytos Trap, a supposed death, a trial, a plague and more, we go back into space. After Wedge and the rest of Rogue Squadron resigned from the New Republic, they formed their own crew to go after Isard and her Imperial crew, including traitor Erisi. Getting pilots, planes, parts, a base and more are dealt with and we finally meet Mirax's father Booster Terrik. One of my favorites Talon Karrde also shows up. Mix all this together and we have a wonderful tale of action, adventure and some romance. Battle scenes are easier to follow in this edition and this book wraps up the story begun in Rogue Squadron. Author Stackpole writes politics as well as Zahn and Luceno and this book surpasses quite a few canon books. I hope the rest of the series will be release on unabridged audio. Marc Thompson is brilliant as usual and the voicework is superb.
