Callaway Golf Strata Complete Golf Set (Men's and Women's)

I purchased the 16 piece set. This set has very good quality. I have been using it for a complete season and so far have had zero club issues. The woods are good for beginners to settle in and work on their game. The Irons honestly impressed me. They're fairly forgiving and provide a nice feel on contact with the ball with a nice distance from them. I love the club covers and the stand bag is sturdy and holds up quite well. Yes, there are way better sets out there, but this set will play right along with them for easily half the price. Strongly recommend to anyone looking for a complete low cost set or just getting into the golf game.

Let me first start off by saying that for the price and what you are buying; you cant beat it. I ordered mine when they were $200 and I played my first course yesterday with them. This is my review as a beginner keep in mind: Look and Feel: Visually, these clubs are simple and do not have a lot of flare to them but that is something I like. There is no Callaway branding on them and the bag simply has Strata on the side. Not a problem for me, but I know that was a complaint among avid golfers. The clubs I received are sturdy and feel okay in the grip. The grips are comprised of this rubber like material and I found initially as I was testing them out at the driving range, my grip would slip as my hands got clammy. Wearing a glove fixed this issue when I played on the course but it is something to keep in mind when you buy them. Use on the Course: The driver I have problems with but that is most likely due to that I am a beginner. The irons are pretty standard and work as intended. The 5 Hybrid club really shines though and I found that after driving, this was my go to to get the ball on the green. The putter is okay, I have used others that feel better to me as I used them. This obviously is preference based and others may find the putter to be great. I will probably upgrade the putter. Overall: Overall, I highly recommend these clubs as a great starter set. The driver and 5H are forgiving for the beginner which is great so that the beginner, like me, can improve their game without much cost to the game on the course. For the money, you cannot escape the great value that come with these clubs. As a beginner to the game, I give the clubs a 5/5 and highly recommend.

I purchased the 12 piece set, which is 9 clubs, 2 head covers, and the bag. To be honest, I wish I'd spent the extra $150 for the full 16 piece set. As it is, I'm going to write my review based on if I had bought the 16 piece set (12 clubs, 4 head covers, and bag) because club quality is obviously the same. I wasn't crazy about the Driver and 3 wood that came with my set. Nothing was wrong with them, I just didn't care for their feel. These would be easy to replace however with used clubs at a low rate from Facebook Marketplace or Ebay. The hybrid from my set is very easy to hit, the irons are excellent for feel and forgiveness, and the wedges are very nice as well (though less backspin, but what do you expect). The putter is a little heavy, but I think it's worth keeping in the bag if you just need a set to play with. My suggestions are to change out the Driver and 3 wood for a used driver, leave all the remaining clubs in the bag, and add a gap wedge. Add a lob wedge eventually if you're really serious about learning to use it (Wilson 52 for gap, 60 for lob are my recommendations). Important to keep in mind: This set is $400 total. That's not even half the cost of a top brand iron set, and maybe just a little more than a brand new name brand driver. This set will show some nicks on it if you don't take lessons or have a rough swing. But those nicks are mostly cosmetic. I've never had any of these clubs break, bend, or have any sort of functional issue. You won't wow anyone with how they look. But they'll cover up a lot of sins with forgiveness, the grips are excellent, the bag is lightweight and top class, and they'll be good as long as you take care of them. I'm a little over 6 ft 1 and they clubs fit me. I recommend these clubs for anyone who has never swung a club before and wants to learn, cannot generate a lot of power in their swing with accuracy, intends to play golf 24 times a year or less, or just needs something to get them started. Since I bought these clubs, I've upgraded to a used set I put together of Mizuno Irons, Odyssey Putter, Wilson Wedges, and Callaway Driver/Woods. But I still regularly go out and play rounds with these clubs and like them. Like I said, no regrets buying them and would recommend them. Definitely the best boxed set I've used so far.

I purchased my Strata clubs in 2019 when I decided to try golf. I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy and continue with the game so these were a budget friendly option. Fast forward 6 years later I was still playing regularly and decided to upgrade to a new set of Ping G430 clubs! Never had any issues with the Stratas and highly recommend the Complete set as it had everything you would need.

Bought the ultimate set. First set I bought after using a friends hand-me-down clubs for the first year or two. Clubs are nice, generally forgiving on the driver, and the 4-5 hybrid have become my go to approach shot clubs. I’m still shooting over 100 but the clubs held up through the season and even the putter is decent.

My wife and I decided to take up golf so I needed a beginner set. I don't know much about golf yet so I did not want to spend a lot of money but needed a good enough set to get started. I am pleased with the purchase. At 5'9" I still have to choke up a bit on the drivers to get a good swing. The clubs have held up well having used then for a full season now. My ability is not beyond the clubs yet so I will definitely have them for a while. The bottoms of the clubs have some light (normal) use scratches after a season of use. The grips look as good as new and are comfortable for me. The are no dents in the faces. The bag is nice hand has plenty of room for shoes, balls and whatever I might need. No wear or tear on the bag yet. I would recommend this set for someone starting out like me.

Was recommended these clubs by the local pro and also from all the golf reviews out there and they have showed up to be very solid. I like them - bag is light, decently organised, plenty of pockets. Clubs play well, nice line up of woods to hybrids to irons. Putter may not be everybodies favorite but its fine

So far im loving the clubs. My first set and I've taken them out a few times on the course already and several times to the range. The driver, 3 wood and 5 hybrid are in my opinion great for beginners. Very forgiving. I can still drive the ball a solid 250+ metres on average whilst not many are slicing. irons are perfect, no problems at all

Positives: This set is a great set to start enjoying the game of golf, it provides all required clubs you need and the clubs are very smooth and easy to get used to, from the putter to the driver. It is great value for money, and the set is solid and durable. Also, the bag is comfortable to carry, provides all necessary pockets to organize your gear and it looks nice. Negative: Only club missing that you'll need to buy additionally at some point is a sand wedge
