A Cancer Battle Plan: Six Strategies for Beating Cancer, from a Recovered "Hopeless Case"

Worth its weight in diamonds!!!
Fortunate are those who have stumbled across this book in their search for health, cures or detoxification. This book should be compulsory reading at every high school, medical school and pharmaceutical company. I always like to follow those people who have established by example what they propound in their writings. This marvellous book is a first hand account of a courageous woman in her mid thirties, a wife and young mother of two children under 10 yrs of age, who placed her full faith in the medical establishment to diagnose her and heal her. It starts out with the horrific pain that started to spring up in different parts of her body. The family phsyician repeatedly misdiagnosed these aches and pains and declared them to be resulting from bursitis, kidney infection etc Meanwhile she continued to be bed ridden thinking that the doctor was right. As it later turned out that throughout these months of misdiagnosis her breast cancer was actually spreading to her skull, spine and the pelvic region. It was virulent enough to fracture her spine. So much for modern medicine and its "know all" attitude about providing a correct diagnosis. Next, they removed both, her breasts, pumped her with chemicals during chemotherapy through three tubes entering her chest, fried her with radiation until her skin had turned black, all to no avail. These barbaric means were unable to stop the cancer from spreading. As a last resort they tried a bone marrow transplant. At the end of which they asked her to leave for home "to die", as she describes it.So she went home alright, not to die, but to live! With help of a nutritionist she made a complete change to her food intake. She bought a juicer and started consuming raw juices of vegetables and fruits. She also started multiple enemas and colon irrigations each day. All these techniques were part of her comprehensive plan to detoxify, something that is completely unknown to modern medicine. After 5 weeks of doing this, she went to the oncologist for a check up. To his complete surprise he found that the cancer had left without a trace! In 5 weeks of adapting a raw living food diet, she was was able to accomplish what the entire medical establishment was unable to do with bills totalling $350,000. So much for modern medicine and its brutal means of treatment. One would think that her story would run on TV cable channels 24/7. However, that will never happen. There is no money to be made by pushing a juicer, fresh fruit and veggies, colon irrigation equipment and such means. It goes completely against the goals of the American Medical Association and Big Pharmaceuticals. Instead of studying such cases in depth and introducing courses on detoxification, colon cleansing and such in medical schools, the medical establishment conveniently marginalizes them and labels them as "anecdotal" and "unscientific". One could care less if they were anecdotal and unscientific as long as they work! One would think that they warrant thorough investigation for purposes of duplication, based upon their tremendous success. However, I wouldn't hold my breath for it to happen andytime soon.Whenever anyone is first diagnosed with such a terminal condition, they willingly put themselves into the hands of the physician and the medical system with full faith in their knowledge and ability to cure. However, this story of Anne fully establishes the error in such an assumption.Even though I do not have cancer or any diagnosed chronic condition or degnerative disease, upon reading her story I knew right away that whatever methods she employed, had to be very powerful because they worked where the best of modern medicine had failed abysmally. I then searched for a colon cleanse program to follow for myself. I set about to do a tissue cleanse through bowel management as described in Dr. Bernard Jensen's book in chapter 5 of: Dr. Jensen's Guide to Better Bowel Care: A Complete Program for Tissue Cleansing through Bowel Management I was very successful with Dr. Jensen's program. It improved my health dramatically in a week. It also made me a firm believer in detoxification and colon cleansing. From this I set out to learn about various other means of detoxification. Now I am investigating other means of detoxifying various organs throughout the body. Here is another success story on cancer cure using alternate methods: How I Conquered Cancer Naturally Here is another very comprehensive book on cancer therapy along the lines of natural healing: The Gerson Therapy: The Proven Nutritional Program for Cancer and Other Illnesses Here is an excellent book on Wheatgrass therapy: Wheatgrass Nature's Finest Medicine: The Complete Guide to Using Grasses to Revitalize Your Health The big hoopla about the search for a miracle cancer cure is all a lot of eyewash on the part of big pharama and medical establishment. They are looking in all the wrong places while the people continue to suffer and die! Its all about making the maximum amount of money from the hard earned life's savings of the terminal patients. Modern medicine is not only ineffective, but also heartless and very greedy. For anyone reading this review, I would very heartily recommend the above books. Other very enlightened authors on this matter are Dr. Ann Wigmore, Dr. Max Gerson, Ray Kordich (the "Juiceman"), Steve Meyerowitz (the "Sproutman"), Dr. Norman Walker and many others. Some of them have themselves made a comeback from cancer, and are therefore the perfect candidates to speak or write on the matter. For me the combaination of a raw living food lifestyle, coupled with colon irrigations and yoga, is producing incredible results. This after decades of suffering with not even a conclusive diagnosis from physicians, much less a cure!

Necessary education for cancer patient
I am 44. I had an emergency colectomy, to remove tumor, and have grade-c colon cancer. THis means that there is no visible tumor spread beyond that removed, but > 50% of the removed lymph nodes tested + for cancer cells. Dr.'s prognosis is 50%-60% 5-year survival. Chemo is recomended, but will only improve the survival rate by 3-8%. I do know that there will be a small but significant % in my situation will that will survive 30+ years.THis book clearly endorses surgery, chemo, and/or radiation to stop advanced cancer. THe question is what next? I have three young children. Should I do nothing and just hope that I fall on the + side of stats? Or do I take aggressive action to try and put my self in the positive side? Choose for yourself. As for me, I will fight with all of my strength to beat this. I am a believer, and my ultimate hope is in God, but he gave me a mind to think, and a strong will to fight and live. TO that end, I ask, can a good detox program followed by a healthy nutritious diet possibly be harmful? I think not. Is the potential harm from follow-up chemo worth only 3-8% increase in 5-year survival? I am still praying and thinking about this one. I may forgo the chemo, but only after many consultations with the oncologist. I don't dismiss the imortance of the medical establishment, neither did Anne.I find the diet to be a bit too radical, and am reading other books ("Juice FOr Life") that allow some fish and poultry in the meals, along with more reasonable food mixing, and more cooked foods. However, the other books seem to align with the this one regarding cleansing and juice recomendations, and emphasis on raw fruits and veggies. I don't look forward to the juice fast cleansing, but honestly, can it hurt? Might it help? I see this as a no-lose situation for me. OThers may have different situation. But in any case, take control of your desease. Fight. Seek the Lord. Do not surrender hope.To respond to a new review, the problem with a natural approach to fighting cancer is that it can not be verified using the "scientific method". That is, individual components of the problem/solution can not be verified. THe problem/solution has to be viewed from a macro perspective. The suggestion that the American diet is responsible is valid when one looks at cancer rates of Japanese, before and after they adapt the American diet. However, unless individual food items can be proven to cause cancer, the medical community will not accept the evidence. The theory, however, is that the total American diet of dead poisened food, is responsible for the failure of the body to fight cancer (specifically due to reduced liver function). Seeing cancer as a system failure, rather than a local disease is orthoganal to the medical establishemt, and therefore, a program of detox, + disciplined nutrition + specific supliments, while reasonable, will not even get consideration, regardless of its results.I am a cancer patient, not an "expert". I am trying to understand my disease, and am not willing to simply hope that my doctors can treat it. I will insist that they provide compelling data for any recomended procedure. I will weigh the risks/benefits carefully. I will also consider reasonable "alternatives".

What a nice read!
I was looking for a book that would enlighten me on the subject of chemotherapy and what one goes through when they find out they have cancer. Is it ok not to have all the answers? What does the relationship with the oncologist need to be? How do you achieve that confidence in him or her to entrust them with your life? What if I chose another venue? What would it look like? The book is definitely an easy read. It is well written. The author shares her story, her battle with cancer, with openness and humour that's enlightening. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to you, if you've just found out you have cancer or even to your spouse as it does help the spouse understand how they can help. Thank you Anne and David for sharing your experience with cancer.
