Review: Not a disappointing sequel - It's kinda hard for the sequels to be as amazing as it's prequel .. It's most of the time a hit or miss but this one is definitely a hit ... hats off for Susan Ee's imagination and the way she writes .... I enjoyed it likes much as I enjoyed the first book and I seriously can't wait to see what happens next ... I love everything in this book and it's must read .... it's not going to disappoint u !! Review: Amazing and irresistible - The book has become sort of a classic and I haven’t met a single person who has not been floored by this series partly because the only person that ever told me that “Angel Fall” was an ok book has not yet come out of coma. Whatever impact “Angel Fall” had created has thoroughly been maintained by its sequel “world after” and I am short of words for its praise because what can you say about something that has practically became a phenomenon. Why one should pick this book is because of the plot and most importantly the language. The language to me was like a clear glass that reflects every emotion, and characters perfectly giving you an amazing reading experience. What I like about the language of the book is that it is simple, short crisp and to the point and filled with easy flowing wits and humor unlike the forced ones you have to tolerate in many of the young adult genres. The beauty of the book is that no matter who picks it up, they can enjoy the book for its simplicity and intriguing story. I loved how “world after” has revisited some of the events of “angel fall” in a very nice manner and perhaps this is the only book that I have seen where there is an intense romance playing without the characters actually conveying it or doing anything to show the mutual feelings. There is not a single romantic scene in the book and yet you will feel that these two are the perfect love couples. Now if that is not what you call chemistry then I don’t know what can be… To tickle my girly bones, Raffe is at his best in “world after” as well and Penryn’s character is well etched with basic human vulnerabilities and the author has not bothered to make her this out of life character and that is what makes the whole characters lovable. I would suggest reading “Angel Fall” first to read “world after” to understand both the books perfectly Pick this book if you like to be part of the next great phenomenon or simply because you love reading since this book is everything one wishes for in a book: intriguing plot with interesting characters and narrated in one of the most beautiful and simplest language

Amazing series
This series (I think is going to be just a trilogy even though initially there were rumors of it being a longer running series) is called Penryn and the End of the Days and it tells the story of a seventeen year old girl as she tries to keep her family safe in an post-apocalyptic Earth. Just a couple of months ago angels (like actual Biblical Angels) invaded the planet and destroyed most of the cities and killed lots of humans. Penryn tries to survive carrying along her non-medicated schizophrenic mother and her wheelchair bond seven year old sister. Right at the beginning of the stories, Penryn witnesses some angels cutting of the wings of another angel. She is afraid they will hurt her when they see her so she tries to fight back and ends up helping the angel who lost his wings. That upsets the other angels and one of them kidnaps her sister. So Penryn decides to help the other angel heal and get his wings back and in exchange he would lead her to where they might be keeping her sister. The story is told from Penryn’s first person POV and it focuses manly on her struggles to survive, find food and shelter and take care of her family. There is also a very slowly building romance between her and Raffe, the angel whom she makes a deal with. They are essentially enemies in a war that goes beyond both of them and neither one can afford to admit their feelings. But they aways end up helping each other and a strong bond occurs. The plot is action packed and the story keeps moving in every single page. In the beginning it takes some time for things to get going and for the reader to understand the bigger picture of what is happening, but from the middle on is just lots of crazy things, twists and action. World After starts right after Angelfall ends and it all feels like a continuous story. The end of World After is slightly less open ended than the first one but it still ends on a note that leaves you needing more. I think Penryn is very relatable and I can definitely relate to a lot of her feelings, even if her situation is so unlike anything I ever experience. But her relationship with her family, her feelings towards the world and other people and even her romantic feelings towards Raffe are all very believable. Her character is what makes this book for me. I also like that is clear that she is not really strong, but she has taken a lot of lessons on self defense so she knows how to fight. The only thing I wish to change on this book would be to make them longer. Ha. I needed it to be a huge series with lots of books. And also lots more Raffe and Penryn together. Anyone who likes paranormal/fantasy/dystopia YA would be likely to enjoy this book. Even if you think that is not your kind of thing, consider picking it up, it is really fun. It does have some slightly gory bits, but not too much (I don’t notice gore in books so I don’t really know what to much is, but I don’t think this book is too much). If you don’t like too much romance in books, then these are also good, because the romance is very subtle and very well developed. So to sum up, pick these up now so you can be as pumped as I am to read End of Days when it comes out in May.

Endlich, endlich, endlich. In jeder Situation, in jedem Moment, in jeder einzelnen Emotion.

A fabulous sequel!
Review: 4 ½ out of 5 stars Contains possible spoilers from the first book World After would have to be one of my most anticipated reads for this year. Angel books are definitely hit or miss but I was absolutely captivated by the first book in this series, Angelfall with its wonderful characters and fabulous world-building so I dove straight into this as soon as it was downloaded. World After picks up right where Angelfall left off, Penryn is left temporarily paralysed after being stung by a scorpion-angel monster and believed dead, Paige her sister has been mutilated, mum is still a tad crazy and they have been left by Raffe with a Resistance group, other humans that have survived the angel apocalypse. Seventeen year-old Penryn is snarky, witty and one of my fave heroines with her kick-butt awesomeness and her dedication and protectiveness of those she loves, in particular her sister Paige who has endured so much; the characters in this series are truly amazing and beautifully developed but there was a certain swoon worthy angel noticeably missing physically for the most part of this book which was a big letdown for me, in saying this when he did make an appearance it was definitely worth it, the banter between Penryn and Raffe and their chemistry was wonderful and I can’t help but hope for more for them. (Quote 77%) He puts his fingers to my lips and whispers, “Don’t talk. You’ll just spoil my fantasy of rescuing an innocent damsel in distress as soon as you open your mouth.” Speaking of Raffe, his sarcasm, strength and surprising devotion to Penryn left me swooning, he is a fierce warrior now sporting a pair of demon wings, and his main focus is to retrieve his own wings to reclaim his place amongst his kind. I enjoyed this aspect and I’m curious to see what is to come of him. The secondary characters each played a pivotal part in this book, especially Penryn’s mother despite her craziness; my heart broke for Paige and what she has been through which was pretty horrific, Uriel and Beliel are unbelievably cruel and power hungry and I have to mention Pooky Bear the sentient sword, some parts had me giggling. (Quote 91%) Do you realize that when she fights battles, she's going to have to announce herself to the opposing sword? She'll be forced to say something ridiculous like, 'I am Pooky Bear, from an ancient line of archangel swords.' There were some intense moments with brutal action sequences, they were written very well and Ms. Ee certainly didn’t hold back on the details; the world is a lot darker and bleak. The plot was engaging and filled with revelations I didn’t see coming, the angels are fierce with their plans to take over the world; the element of surprise is one of the things I have appreciated, you never quite knew in which direction the author would take things which I liked but in the end it all came together nicely. Susan Ee’s story-telling is mesmerising, I was captivated by the events which took place, her dialogue is witty and the characters loveable. This is most definitely one of my favourite angel series. Overall, World After is an impressive sequel, filled with angel politics, unnatural abominations, violence and some wonderful action-scenes, I’m more than eager to get hold of the next book in this amazing series but have my fingers crossed our wait won’t be as lengthy. (Quote 37%) “You broke me out of the grasp of a living horror when I thought all hope was gone. You gave me the opportunity to crawl back to life when no one else could." She glances over at me, her eyes shining in the dark. "You're a hero, Penryn, whether you like it or not.”
