No idea how "thickness" and/or "sheerness" apply to this laser toy. The Attributes/Pros are: The toy is VERY Quiet, it has an awesome shape and super cool laser pattern(s). HOWEVER, the laser dot could be a bit larger (it's very small) and it absolutely has to be FASTER! It's way TOO slow for both of my easily bored babies/kitties. I'll wait to see, but so far, they've both just walked off and they BOTH LOVE lasers, their favorite being one they no longer make or one I have to hold (they can play for hours, that's why I'm trying to find one I don't have to operate but no such luck to date).Pros: Toy is Quiet, Lightweight, with a nice Shape and Cool Laser Patterns.Cons: Too Slow and the Laser Dot is very Small.No idea how battery life is since I just received the toy, but it takes three and no option for USB Charge.

Mild entertainment for cats.To start I have two very easily entertained cats and this captures their attention for about 15 minutes at most.It is a very sturdy device and can handle a fall with no major damage.The structure of it allows for it to be placed in a variety of angles to support cat entertainment.But here is the bad news... It makes sounds that can be distracting and often is more entertaining to the cats than the lazer itself. I myself am not too fond of the sound. The pattern for the lazer is also very simple and leaves much to be desired.With all that said I am still using it to play with my cats when I can't be as active as a participant in their daily play or am still trying to fish one of their toys from under the couch.There might be better options but I have yet to try any.

Love this toy. It auto shuts off after a whole. It has different laser settings. I turn it on and get to do things around the house while my cats are entertained.

I looked through a lot of automatic lazer light pet toys. I chose this one not only because it costs less than the others but because the lazer light stayed on the longest for 30 minutes. It has different settings so your cat/pet won't get bored with it. It even allows you to manually move the light around if you want to hold it & play with your cats yourself. I've had the lazer light for 6 months now & the only issue I've had is that the motor has gotten quite loud. Fortunately it only annoys me & doesn't bother my cats. I suggest you invest in rechargeable batteries otherwise you'll spend a fortune in disposable ones.***Edit*** This was a great toy for my cats who loved it but it stopped working a few months after buying it.

Cats seem to love it. It auto shuts off after I don’t know how long. Maybe 20 minutes?? Sometimes I just turn it on and let the cats play and go to bed lol. Keeps them occupied and they don’t really get bored of it.

The toy can be handled by an adult, and you can use it like a normal (albeit cumbersome) laser.Operationally, for our particular cat, it was not too exciting, as at some point, regardless of the angle, the cat begins to forecast the path, even with the most random alternative. But that may be just this cat, which likes almost nothing anyway.

This item is doable to get my cats active but because the rotation continues in the same pattern, they eventually lose interest. They’re use to the frequency on some one doing it manually with a laser, etc. it’s an alternative fix for their excitement.

Item is easy to use, and the variation seems to keeps the cats attention. It has an auto off so great if you forget about it. The unit is very light, so easy to move around, however not too sure how durable it would be from a drop, also its easy for the cats to knock off or move around. Overall though its good for the money
