A good hot water circulator. Has three speed settings. The slowest speed extends the pump life, but works great circulating hot water through a 4,000 s.f. two story residence. If you are replacing an existing identical pump that has burned out, the removal and replacement is quick and easy.

I have an Armstrong Astro 30B recirculating pump. The impeller has brocken off of the bearing assembly. I was wanting to replace the impeller and the bearing assembly and was needing part numbers. The vast majority of these small style motors are classified as "throw away" motors. With this being said I was unable to buy replacement parts. The Astro 230ss is the direct replacement for the Astro 30B. The difference being that the pump is stainless instead of bronze. The flanges that came with the Astro 30B are the same flanges that are used with the Astro230ss. Also, it is worth noting that this pump unlike the 30B has three speed settings.

Runs cooler and quieter than my last pump. I like the adjustible rpm switch. Circulates hot waterlx to my 8 office sinks on the slow setting well. Seals were included in the package. Took only a few minutes to install and I am only a novice at plumbing. I paid a plumber $600 last time to install a pump of lesser quality.

I replaced my Astro 30b with this pump. It was a simple process because I simply had to unscrew the old pump, replace the pump and old gaskets with the new ones provided, and screw the flanges back together. I had to purchase a new electric cord because the pump did not come with a new one. I like the fact that there are 3 speeds because the lowest speed is quite adequate for hot water circulation in my house, and the lower pump speed uses less electricity.

I've gone through 3 pumps in 3 years. The first pump failed completely - burn-out. Almost a year to the day, the plastic impeller mysteriously disintegrated. Now, almost a year to the day since the last one went, water is no longer circulating throughout the house. When they work everything is great.

Replaced older Astro 30 B with this to recirculate domestic hot water. Easy as pie: just swapped the old one with the new one. The pump comes with gaskets and everything fits just right. Unscrew 4 bolts, disconnect power leads, yank out old pump, put gaskets in new pump, align new pump with the flanges and tighten the 4 bolts, reconnect power leads Et voilà. Elapsed time: 5 mins. It works as advertized. Remains ro see for how long. The old one lasted 15 years. Delivery was fast. Pump was very well packaged.

These pumps are relatively expensive but it is easy to install and works like a charm. I bought the pump to replace an existing Armstrong pump that is installed in a hot water recirculating system.

Delivery was quick considering that my furnace was down while waiting for pump to arrive.Replacement is a do it yourself job that is straightforward and quick.
