V10 Radar/Laser Detector

So far, so good. I got this because I had a good experience with the V955. I did my homework on this and the Escort S55. At the end of the day I kept this one because it has voice alerts and the user interface is better. I got this because I can turn off any setting (X, K, etc.).This the same as Bel Pro 300 (which is pretty highly rated).It will false if you go by a door or another car with BSM. I turned off X and K band because Ka is used where I work and live. Well built unit and for the price, you get a good range detector.

I have used a V10 for several years, However in the City of Madison, WI where I reside, some laser bands cannot be detected anymore by this detector, going to upgrade to a V1 eventually. For regular doppler radar except certain (Ka) gun models, this thing exceeds expectations and is much better than my old cobra or my friends old whistler (never get those brands). Id reccommend this product, but not if cops usually just laser instead of use doppler radar in your area.

I've owned this Bel for 3 months now, and it does everything I want it to and more. Very customizeable, rarely gives me false alerts, looks good, sounds good, the SmartCord is a great feature, and best of all it'll alert to the highway hogs a mile before you see them. I recommend the V10 to anyone looking for style and functionality without all the extra bells and whistles that bring the price up another $200 and you hardly use.

I don't know if it's hey wiring or not working correctly but I really don't trust it and it doesn't give me a good read I'll have a cop right next to me with his radar on and the only give you one line so I really don't trust it I don't know if maybe it's defective

Works but is very noisy in the city...Picks up a lot of false alerts from doors and especially the blind spot/avoidance devices on some of the newer cars...I returned it.

This is a great Best Buy version of Beltronics radar detector that is comparable to Escort Passport 8500 X50 and Beltronics Pro 300 at a much lower cost. Not much of false alarm in city driving, and it's quite accurate on highway to detect Ka Band more than a mile away. I don't drive fast but this is a reliable alarm to alert me of any speed traps on the road. I like it so much and bought 3 of them for each of my cars a year ago, and all 3 are still working flawlessly. Sadly, Beltronics has discontinued this model. If you can still find one in the inventory somewhere, I'd highly recommend it.

I purchased this for a road trip across the country. It probably saved us at least 10 speeding tickets over the 4300 miles!!! Best electronic investment we've made. It has an incredible range - I can't tell you how many times we thought it was giving a false reading and then sure enough, we'd pass a highway patrolman! Needless to say, it became our "slug bug" game. We only used the Ka and X bands, which worked like a charm. Unless you're into being startled by obscenely loud and unexpected noises, I suggest you do the same! lol

I really don't have anything to compare it to as it is my first one. Using it the city is annoying even on 'city' setting. Probably about 100 false alarms to 1 real one, but not sure you can do anything about it. Apparently, automatic door openers use the same frequency as some police radar. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it only comes with 2 small suction cups that lasted about 6 months. I guess they want you to buy the $20 super suction unit.
