LEGO Technic Power Functions Motor Set 8293 (10 Pieces) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

My son did a lego league at school and they used these in building things. I bought this set for him after he learned to use them and loved it. He’s 9 and it was easy for him to use and explore with.It would not be good for a younger child to use unsupervised as they could easily destroy the motor.This is a great stem set, a great summer project and a fun toy to use as a family to create and work together.

My grandson is constantly using this set to build different items, cars, tanks, boats and lots of different items. His birthday is coming up and he would like more of some of the items in the set, but I think I will just buy him another set. He gets so much enjoyment building things using this set and we enjoy watching him construct those different items. Wish I did take a picture of the different items he made, and he was only 9 yrs. old when I gave him that set.

This a great set to add motion and lights to your lego creations. It works well and the LEDs have a rectifier so they will light up regardless of whether you're in forward or reverse. I just wish it came with a few more gears. It came with some basic parts, including a u-joint, but it could have used a differential or a few other technical pieces.

I sent one of these sets each to my 12-year-old grandson and my 10-year-old grandson. Both of them are enjoying the products very much. These are boys who are very creative and have just about every kind of building set made. Most building sets, Legos especially, have a limited number of items that can be built because of the specialized blocks included in the sets. Lego Technic Power Functions Motor Set extends the play potential of these building sets. Hooray!

This is a nice unit. It powers legos. There is not too much more to it. Has lights to add to your lego kit, and the battery pack. If you want your kit to move then this is the piece you want. Some ingenuity to fit the motor might be required for some kits.

My son was so happy to see this on Christmas morning! All parts and pieces were there and work perfectly. I did also get him the gear set, which enabled him to make actual machines with his regular Legos.

I bought this as a gift for my nephew, who loves motors and Legos so I thought it would be a slam-dunk. Unfortunatly, it was not clear how to use it. I thought (when I bought it) he could build anything and put the motor in it. That did not appear to be the case when he opened it. Then we thought we had to buy another specific Lego product to go with it, but could not find what that product was. I had to go into a Lego store and ask. At the store they were helpful and told us we could go online and find ideas for what to make and how to use this product (without buying anything additional). Sadly, after all the time it took to research it my nephew lost interest.

I wouldn't give this as a gift alone but perhaps with a technic set that can use the motor. It's great, easy to use but lacks parts to make something alone.

Éste fue un regalito para un niño y le encanto . Funcionan con pilas y ha hecho maravillas con ellos armando muchas cosas y poniéndoles motor . Estimulan a los niños ayudándoles a desarrollar su imaginación. Los recomiendo ampliamente
