Ordered these because I had a job that I had to finish quickly. I didn't have high expectations because of price. My order came on time, well packaged and undamaged. The set came in a nice storage box and everything was well labeled. I have only used the 1/4 so far but broach was sharp and cut a clean, straight keyway in a steel sprocket. So far I am impressed with the quality of this set. I will update if I run into problems with any of the other sizes. Update, used the 1/4 tried to cut a keyway in a hardened spacer. Sadly it was too hard and the broach broke in half. Very disappointed but in the end it was my fault. The bad part is the replacement is over 25% of the cost of a new set. 2nd update, contacted manufacturer to order a replacement. I explained the situation and they asked for my address because they were sending the new one free of charge! Don't hesitate to purchase from this company because they have outstanding customer service!!!!

I purchase this on sale for 50% discount. I used the 1/8 size and it cut easy. The other sizes look to be good also. Case is very nice.

The broach set works exactly as I expected even in mildly hard steel. Good keyway finish with minimal burrs. The wooden box was badly damaged because it was shipped in an oversized cardboard box without filler/padding. Unacceptable for a $200 purchase!

Arrived very quickly, the box is inexpensive but does the job. All the machining seems to be very good. Haven’t used it yet but it looks like it will do the jobs (brass) that I need.

I am quite happy with the quality of this set. It arrived a day early. The quality of the box could be better. The finger joints on one end of the box came apart and I had to glue the end back in. No big deal. I only need to broach a key way a few times a year and couldn’t justify spending over $1000 for a top brand set. And it’s frustrating having to rely on another shop to broach one key way. So this set fills my needs perfectly.

the broaches are in fact high speed steel, the guide bushings are to dia and provide a acceptable measure of support when in use. the cutting teeth are cut square to the work surface as per the traditional design. , this results in very high resistance to the cutting action as well as what i feel is substantial chip per tooth ratio requireing a considerable measure of force when useing a manual or non hydraulic press .in my training a manual press was the prefered method as itallowed for sensitivety in the application of pressure. some thing lost in the use of the common hydraulic shop press so very common. circumstances will dictate the method used, use caution, use eye protection as hss will fracture violently and not bend.

I’ve only used the 3/8’s cutter for some 1” bore dies I made for my tube roller they were 3” long and using my press they made flawless key ways. Have an air over hydraulic press was well worth it. Dies were 1018 steel
