A good start.
I bought these to use along side the bypass secateurs I tend to prefer. I am cutting back woody stems on bushes and small trees and managed to distort the blades of my usual secateurs, my own fault. I used to use an anvil type some time ago (different make) and they lasted for a long time without me managing to damage them, so bought these to use on the current work. So far they have been comfortable to use and survived my excessive optimism over cutting marginally overthick stems. Its too soon to assess their ability to retain their sharpness over time etc., but so far they are doing well. Critically they are relaxing to use and I can carry on cutting without strain on my average male sized hand. It will interesting to see my opinion after a years use.

Superb quality clippers
Was slightly sceptical of the manufacturer's claim that these secateurs would cut through 25mm of branch. I need not have worried. The blade is top steel, and cuts smoothly, and precisely. You get what you pay for- German steel, keen edge, which sharpens up again quickly, smooth action. A bargain.

Superb
I didn't want to pay over £50 for a pair of these with a leading brand name and these had lots of good reviews. The reviews were correct. They are robust, cut well and as a bonus do not have an overlap on the blades like other types. This means the blades can't be pushed apart damaging the cutting ability of the shears. They are slightly smaller than I had expected but are absolutely fine for roses and anything up to 1 cm in diameter. I wouldn't try to cut anything over 1 cm with these. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Sharp and Sturdy Secateurs
Having only used these secateurs a few times to prune roses, I cannot yet comment about their durability. What I can say though, is that they fit well in the hand, are solidly built, and cut thick rose stems with only a mild effort.I held back one star as the handgrip is hard plastic. It could be a little softer and more lavish for the money, though this is a small issue. Also the locking switch is plastic and quite stiff to operate. If anything is likely to malfunction it'll be this part, I think. That said, i'm tempted to recommend this product . The 10 year guarantee, which you don't get with many cheaper versions, confers a certain level of confidence, so that should these cutters fall apart or seize up in the first few years the initial investment won't have been wastedI don't anticipate that happening, but will update my review if I encounter any issues.I'd say these secateurs are a good buy.

Great until the spring stopped working
In many ways these were the nicest pair of secateurs I've owned. However, the return spring stopped working after a year or so and there is no way to replace it. Disappointed.
