My New Favourite Gadget
This is a fantastic little processor.Great for chopping onions (anything really,)either coarsely or finely, pureeing fruit both of which takes seconds. Nice and compact and very easy on the eye. I love it. Thoroughly recommend one. I got my red one in Lakeland.

Very difficult to take off the lid and detatch the bowl from the base.
The lid and body are really hard to remove, I keep expecting them to break with the force required... it's not a smooth maneover. I suspect it's only a matter of time.

handy small device to deal with small amounts of ingredients which need to be pulverised
I am currently on a very low fat diet which requires me to do even more cooking from scratch than usual. Many of the recipes use lots of garlic/ginger/chillies/herbs/spices... in order to make fish/meat/poultry/vegetables, interesting & palatable instead of using the butter/oil/cream...which one used when cooking previously. Although the amounts used are not great (I cook for just two of us, day to day), this does take out a lot of the chopping/mincing/grating. I looked at what was available, and some of the cheaper options did look a bit flimsy. I read reviews which were variable. In the end I paid a bit more and purchased this. While it is not quite as robust as I might have wished, I have been pleased and satisfied. It is easy (once accustomed) to use and wash. I have the standard size appliances, but they are simply too large and cumbersome for the small amounts I am dealing with. I think that this is something which many cooks might be pleased to have, even if not following recipes as I am presently doing.

Pros: 1. The motor is pretty quiet 2. Works well! Chops and purees like a champ 3. Super easy to clean up 4. Plastic bowl doesn't stain or retain smells/tastes Cons: 1. Doesn't hold as much as advertised 2. The bowl can get dislodged, which then shuts the whole thing down until you figure out the bowl is misaligned As others have mentioned, this doesn't really effectively hold a workable 3.5 cups. I use this mainly to make homemade hotsauce and hummus, and a 16 oz can of chickpeas and the few other ingredients will pretty much fill the whole thing up. However, it does work amazingly well. And it's relatively quiet. I'd say this is much quieter than I expected. About as loud as a hair dryer on low. Maybe about as obnoxious as my immersion blender. Compared to my blender or the full size food processor I have, this is ridiculously quiet. Also a super plus is that the plastic bowl doesn't retain any flavors from whatever was in it. I always grow too many jalapenos and will make hotsauce at home. Despite running batches of jalapenos through this little machine, the oils from the peppers don't adhere to the plastic bowl and seems to just wash out. This means that when I use this to make hummus later, it doesn't smell or taste like whatever was in it earlier. Additionally, to make hotsauce, I have to run this little guy for a couple minutes at a time with short breaks inbetween to finely puree the peppers into a thick liquid. This usually means running the processor on full speed for at least 10 minutes. So far, despite a year's worth of frequent use, the motor hasn't started smoking or burned out or shown any decrease in performance compared to the day I bought it. Durability is 5 stars. The controls work very well. Just pull to lever to either chop or puree, and then press down on the handle part of the lid with your thumb and the thing starts. There is a very convenient little pour spout on the lid where you can drizzle in olive oil, lemon juice, etc, while the food is being processed. Works really well for making mayonnaise. Cleaning is very easy. All the parts come apart easily, including the blade assembly, and are dishwasher safe, although I prefer to just wash by hand. The food processor doesn't take up much space, and it's compact, but also has enough heft that it doesn't go sliding around while you're using it. The only real annoying thing about it that bothers me a bit is that the bowl, which is twisted on to the base, can easily slip out of alignment, and the food processor will refuse to run until it's seated fully into position. This only happens when I'm pulling on the lever to switch from "puree" to "chop", which isn't often, but it happens enough that its getting mentioned in a review. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this. Much better than the old Oster that it replaced in speed, ability, and noise.

I bought this to replace a cheaper small food processor I had that recently broke. I wish I had bought this one from the beginning. I purchased this for $50 on Amazon, still $30-$40 cheaper than most stores near me. It was more expensive than the first one I had, but definitely worth it. It is a lot more powerful and feels like much better quality than cheaper options. This makes food preparation a lot easier, and is a very versatile machine. It is used to chop vegetables, make dips/salsas, and even make fine powders like oat flour. This will be seeing a lot of use and is a huge time saver. It is very easy to clean and the blades are very sharp and seem to be of high quality steel. The safety locking mechanism (which broke on my last one) is much more substantial than my last one and appears to be able to withstand a lot more use. It is also a very convenient size for my uses. I have a large food processor, but never take it out because it is a lot more cumbersome to use and clean. For the size of meals we make this is perfect.
