I am using it for a conference TV. The USB extension allows you to put the webcam on the TV instead of the laptop.

The HDMI KVM Extender works well when it works (more about that later). I've been using it for about 9 months to push keyboard, video, mouse and audio (via USB) from a Precision Rack 7910 in my storage closet up to my office, about ~65 feet. Video is responsive with no detectable lag. I've notice video does artifact a little and on longer CAT test runs they are very noticable. Keyboard, mouse and audio via USB is responsive regardless of length of the CAT run. All my USB attachments are USB 2.0 and as expected you'll get USB 2.0 speed for any external or flash drive connected.On to why I gave this product one star. It works until it doesn't work. My unit breaks down. No video output, keyboard LED flickers and my mouse doesn't even turn on. I've tested monitor, keyboard and mouse on a dedicated machine and it works. I'm thinking it's heat related as it has no ventilation. So it looks like the receiver unit has cooked itself. I'm trying to reach the seller/manufacturer to utilise the 12 Month Warranty. However I'm not expecting much. For a $100 product, I suggest looking elsewhere for more quality. Unless you want to spend $100 every year for a replacement.

This review is for the hardware of the HDMI USB KVM Extender over Ethernet. Tested successfully over 60ft with logitech g300s mouse and logitech c920 hd web cam.Build quality from the exterior seems solid, no loose or rattling parts. Very light weight chassis made from aluminium which dissipates heat caused by these types of devices.Having (POE) is great setup saver as you only need to supply power to one of the two units.Star was subtracted due to initial setup failures, product seemingly fixing itself to start working properly and usb ports are not deep enough and leave about 1/8th in of the type A plug exposed. Setup could have been user error but also am wondering about longevity of product as this will be part of a mobile setup. Time will tell if product stands up.

bought several of these over a period of time. they are great for the price and do the job. however, running longer distances, the image begins to ghost. short distances, the video image is great. at about 150', it's a different story. no lag with the video or mouse controls. will buy again . . . for shorter distance projects.

Got two of these for an install at my job. Neither HDMI nor USB worked consistently over multiple configuration options. Wyrestorm units worked fine over same cable run, so the problem is with the cheap unit's encoding/decoding. Pay more for better product first time, or you will have to do it later.

It worked well until it died after almost 9 months of use. It was never abused and was kept in A/C for a my home security system. I wasn’t expecting this product to last forever, but it was not worth the money for only 9 months of continuous use.

Just straight up doesn't work. Tried different cables, displays, devices, didn't matter.
