Grating nutmeg can be hazardous - to your fingers! For years, we just took the nutmeg in our fingers, and used a small handheld grater to grate some. Well, when the nutmeg "nut" is about 1/2 ground, getting more from it without scraping fingers, is tough! I wanted to make it easier for us - especially for my husband - when we want some freshly ground nutmeg. He loves it in his egg nog. So...I bit the bullet, and ordered this. It is simply MARVELOUS! Adding more nutmegs to the grinder/grater is easy, too. You just untwist the plastic top, and add more. Oh, did I mention that it comes WITH nutmeg already in it? It does! Very, very pleased with this purchase!

I love this nutmeg mill . The fragrance from the fresh, freshly shaved nutmeg, permeates the entire kitchen. Easy to load and very durable.

The first time I purchased this item, I returned it right away bc it arrived with the box severely damaged. The product was described as coming with 7 nutmegs but only arrived with 3. The item itself was not visibly damaged, but with the other two aspects being off, I decided to return it, as it didn’t arrive as described. Upon receiving my replacement, it was almost identical as the first. The product box was damaged and there were only 3 nutmegs again. Feeling frustrated but realizing the item is just not going to arrive as described, I decided to keep it and not contribute to the footprint of more returns. It seemed defective at first, but once I disposed of the nutmeg that was in the grinder and broken, it seems to be working just fine. Overall, I’d say the product itself is good quality, but the seller is not doing well with providing a product that arrives as described or shipped with care. Maybe you can find this product from a different source.

This is an attractive grater, and it is relatively sturdy (though some of the chrome you see is actually plastic). But there are core problems, which I have experienced in the 8 months I have owned it. I frequently grind spices. The first problem is that it is hard to load. The bizarre engineering requires that you open the grater in the middle, which causes all the whole nutmegs to fall out. It is awkward to keep the nutmegs inside while also loading the nutmeg which is currently being grated. The more important problem is a fatal design flaw in how the nutmeg being grated is held. Generally, it grates a nutmeg part of the way, and then the "teeth" inside which grip the nutmeg strip the nutmeg (like stripping a screw), and you are unable to continue grating. The result is that I have a lot of half-grated nutmegs. It might, nevertheless, be your best option.

Pros, seems well made, grinds smoothly, easy to use CONS: package was opened before it arrived. Only 3 nutmegs. Listing is for 7 nutmegs. Other people have complained about this same issue but apparently seller is still removing nutmegs to sell. AMAZON. Pay attention to this problem. Either tell them to change the listing or be honest, leave ALL the nutmegs we are paying for or reduce the price and tell us why. Recommended by buy from a different seller.

Love this little gadget! I like the fact that I can control the amount of nutmeg in can put in my baking items. It also stores a few nutmegs in the top of the globe. It grinds nicely and the size is just right. I received the item on time and in perfect condition. Would buy from this company again.

Ineccepibile il livello costruttivo del prodotto, veramente di qualità. Arriva con all'interno già 3 o 4 noci moscate. La tritatura è fine ed omogenea e il profumo che si ottiene nei piatti è di estrema qualità. Risulta molto comodo per chi come me sua spesso questa spezia e non vuole rischiare di lasciare un pezzo di unghia nella grattuggia. Risulta un po' caro rispetto ad altri prodotti che si possono vedere in giro ma la qualità costruttiva non è comparabile.

L'objet de tout les désir, il est beau, pratique, utile, solide et sauve vos doigts et surtout les ongles de Madame lors de la séance "grattage de la noix" qui il faut bien l'admettre est bien meilleures fraiche que vendue moulue. Vraiment à avoir dans une cuisine.
