Elvis Presley in Flaming Star

Must buy for all Elvis fans. Added in my collection.

An unusual Elvis movie: it has just one song( apart from the title track over the credits) in the first few minutes, and then is a serious, somber take on the differences between the Kiowa Indian tribe and the "Whites" and the dilemma Elvis' character faces, when he has to choose sides - as he is half breed : Half Kiowa and half White. 20th Century Fox cast Elvis in serious roles for all their movies with him, and it is too bad that these movies did not do as well financially - compared to the light musical fluff he was forced to do with other studios - Elvis definitely showed potential as a serious actor.The Blu-ray print is very good, even if a bit "grainy". I do hope Excel/ Fox will bring out their other Elvis titles especially "Wild in the Country"

An excellent movie with Elvis shining in a non singing western, who is torn between two worlds. Excellent performance by Elvis and Dolorous Del Rio, who plays Elvis' Red India mother.

Flaming Star is one of Elvis Presley's best films and it proved he could ACT!-it looks simply stunning on bluray and well worth the upgrade.(the only bonus feature is an original theatrical trailer)As a big Elvis Presley fan I just had to own this classic 1960 Elvis movie on bluray,its far better than the previous DVD version.

I admit to not being a particular fan of Elvis, but remember this as being easily his best film, the one time he proved what a good actor he could have been had Col Parker allowed him to be. A career in movies like that of Sinatra seemed to beckon, only to be diverted after this film into that series of chiefly ghastly musicals.But this film looks simply wonderful on Blu Ray, simply wonderful. Gorgeous colour. Well worth it. If only all 50s and 60s movies could be put onto Blu Ray with such care and affection, they would all be worth buying.

Très beau western, avec un bon générique musical ,une belle histoire dramatique ,de bons acteurs,des paysages.Un grand Elvis.Excellent, bonne qualité des images.Bravo!
