Works as advertised, great range.
I was an early adopter of this product, probably somewhere around 10 years ago, at least, I got one of the first generation batman-shape keychain designs. A few years later I got a revision of the batman keychain which could be re-activated mid sequence, a nice upgrade. Can you believe the first generation, you had to wait for the entire transmission to finish to send again?Well, I took it to Costco and Walmart for a real world test, and yeah, it's quite powerful. The IR LED emitters inside are arranged in a slight arc, so the signal pans out horizontally. There are two different types of emitters, 4 of each, I am guessing one type sends out a wide angle beam, and the other type is more focused to a narrow angle?I was initially a little worried about some other reviews which said the product would overcharge and swell the battery, but I have not seen this. In fact , I disassembled it out of curiosity, and there is a dedicated lithium ion charge control chip inside, so that really shouldn't happen. It's good to know there is protection in the device, so maybe they just were unfortunate duds? With a USB power dongle, I measured the charge current of this at 400 milliamps to start, with the current tapering down to zero towards the end of the charge cycle, which is in line with how a lithium battery should be charged (CC/CV). There is no LED indicator that charging is happening though, that's something I would have liked to see.So yeah, this can be a fun little toy for the inner child shenanigans you may have in you!

YES! Useful AND fun!
I heard about this product years ago. Finally, I was at a business meeting at a restaurant with a TV blaring nearby with no one watching. That was it, I had to hunt this down. There is an ominous battery warning dominating the opening experience, but once you ignore that, charge it up and have it handy, it is fantastic. I've been using it at restaurants especially, however there is a nearby daycare I walk past that always has a huge TV blasting at the kids. Yep, I am cutting down their screen time.I then had a sick kid and needed to pickup a prescription and Walmart pharmacy decided an hour was needed, so we drove a shopping cart around and the satisfaction of seeing the TV's each turn off randomly on the back electronics wall was fantastic. I may have saved them $25 in electricity before they noticed and turned them back on again only for us to do another drive-by with our shopping cart. Anyway, my wish would be for it to be more compact and use CR2032 batteries or something. If you misplace the special USB adapter, it might be hard to replace. Anyway, I have a doctor apt. later today and I can't wait to turn off the endless repeating ads blaring on the wall in the waiting room.

Works but only with line of sight.
This works but only if you have line of sight, can't go through curtains or anything like that. Also note that it takes a while to cycle through the codes so you have to hold it at the TV for a time, so don't think people won't notice unless your clever about it. Also no cell phone is that thick these days lol so not a great cover story.

Huge improvement over older version.
The product feels REALLY cheap. It's basically a hard plastic housing around the inner components and a sticker to look like an iphone screen. It's also very light, which I like. It's simple to operate- click and shoot. With this version, you don't have to aim it very well and it will work pretty good. It's range is pretty nice, I've gotten it to work from about 1/2 the length of a cafeteria, so 100+ feet. It can handle some angles pretty well. Charging is a hassle, but it's expected when the product works so well. The button is really responsive and makes a pretty noticeable click. It's worked on 10/10 TV's I've tried it on... AMAZING in school. Just make sure you keep it discreet and don't tell any one, or you could get in trouble.

Doesn't hold a charge
Worked great when I first purchased it in April of 2019. By July, it will only work if it is plugged in (does not hold a charge).

Precariously Cheap But Does The Job!
This product does what it claims to do. It will turn off most TV sets and has a much longer range than the original TV-B-Gone. I've used this to turn off outdoor TV sets from across the street. However, the unit has no battery indicator; there is no way to tell how much charge is left in the battery or how long it needs to be plugged in. It looks and feels very cheap; like something disposable and insubstantial, but if it continues to work for a full year, I'll feel it was worth the price.

It works as advertised.
It works as advertised. I usually just turn off the TVs that no one is watching. It is kind of cool to have the power to do so. A couple of times I’ve turned off the TV during an important sporting match and it’s fun to hear people say things when the TV goes black. But I have to tell you in a bar with 10 TVs if you turn off 6 or 7 that no one’s watching, no one complains In 45 minutes and so you are saving electricity For the world the carbon footprint and all that. It’s also fun to turn them back on, if it looks like nobody knows what to do

Top 10 best things I've purchased in my life...
This thing is awesome, went to the mall and turned off the menu screens (which had like 3 tvs) at Cinnabon. Then I tried it on some gamers in the middle of mall, they were really into the game and then poof, their disappointed confused faces were priceless. Sorry guys...no not really. Also tried it at a BBQ restaurant while ordering to-go, turned off the 2 tvs while waiting and talking with the guy cutting the meat and he had a confused face. I also brought it to my friends house and kept turning it off, he was about to take the TV back so I had to tell him it was me.The best thing about this is that its slim and can pass as a phone. It is best to wear a long sleeve while executing. 1 downfall from it is that it may take a bit to scroll through the codes until it finds the tv brand to turn it off. You just have to have get good at angling the device so it doesn't look suspicious. It just takes practice, its the art of the prank. There are also some tvs that have some option to always be turned "on" so no matter how many times you turn it off it will always turn back on by itself.
