Although the arm length was a good fit, it was uncomfortably tight across the shoulders. Loved the style and look, but the fit was off for him.

First, let me say that I was primarily looking for an inexpensive coat. I live in San Diego and it just doesn't get cold enough here to justify buying a wool coat. However, I have been traveling to the east coast on business so I wanted something that would keep me warm and look professional when I met with clients (in business casual and sometimes suits). This coat is awesome. It looks good, it keeps me warm and it doesn't wrinkle in my carry on bag. FABRIC: It is a 60/30/10 wool/poly/nylon blend. There is enough wool so that the fabric breathes so you don't sweat like you would with a cheaper polyester coat. I compared the feel of the fabric with my wife's expensive wool+cashmere coat. OK her coat feels much softer and nicer but this is good enough for a guy :-). Black is a classic color so that's what I chose but I was intrigued by the Navy color. I kinda wish I got that color because it is more unique. But I only see people wearing these pea coats in black so I played it safe. FIT: I wear a 46R suit and this coat in XL fits perfectly. I have broad shoulders so I will agree with others that say that the armpits are a bit tight. But I need to lose weight anyway so I won't deduct a star for that. I read other reviews where people were pleasantly surprised that a coat like this was on sale for only USD100. I think the list price is about USD250. I would never pay list for this coat but I guess my timing is good because I got it for USD50. I think that is a fair price for a coat of this quality because I was at my local Target store recently and saw a similar pea coat (Merona brand) on clearance for around USD40. I have always had good luck with Kenneth Cole products in the past and this continues the trend. I suggest you buy it.

I first ordered the peacoat in L (I'm 6 ft, 180 lbs), which was way too large. So I got it in M and it fits well. The quality seems to be decent, the fit is somewhat relaxed (as one would expect for a peacoat), and it's warm enough. Anyway, I rated it three stars for two reasons: - not enough pockets and, more importantly, not a single buttoned or zipped pocket (which is important to me if I have small, valuable items with me) - It smells. Smell goes away with time, but very slowly I guess 3.5 stars would be the correct rating.

This seemed an ideal jacket to replace a much-used three-year-old coat of the same style. I chose this brand b/c the reviews suggested a truer to reality sizing. I'm a bigger guy who buys mostly XL and 2XL clothing. Two X has always fit generously in every garment I've bought in that size so I was fairly confident it would do so here -- with the 2X I ordered. The coat is beautifully styled with thoughtful touches for the buttons, inside and outside packets. I am not a judge of fabric quality or garment workmanship. I liked it a lot but it was too tight in the shoulders and somewhat in the chest. I tried it on with only a T-shirt and found shoulder movement restricted. I could only imagine with a dress shirt and perhaps suit coat on. So if you can find this coat in your size, I think you'll be happy. I got it during an Amazon one-day say of 75% off outerwear.

This coat is very nicely made, with a timeless look. I thought the "bib" would look silly, but it's really quite nice (even on someone like me who has no neck). The bib is removable if you don't feel the same way. It would look great without it too. The pockets are sewn shut, but easily opened by cutting the threads inside the pocket while gently pulling it open. As far as fit goes, the shoulders and arms are tight on me. If you have a muscular build, this may be snug. I ordered a Medium, and it fits snugly across the shoulders and forearms/elbows. I have a 40 inch chest and 35 inch waist, I wish it tapered a bit more. It feels loose at the waist, but it doesn't *look* loose. Nice and warm, certainly thick enough for Maryland winters. The midnight blue color is *really* sharp. Just a classic, great looking coat. If you want a pea coat, and you can get this one at $70, it would be really tough to beat.
