Mainstay Half-Fold Metal Box Spring, Queen

I came so close to loving this product, but it's not actually the correct size for a Queen frame. Although the description at the top of the page says that it's 80"L x 60"W x 7.5"H and has a 2400lb weight capacity, if you scroll down to the manufacturer's product description the dimensions are listed as: 78.5" x 58.5" x 7.5" with a 1200lb weight capacity.And that missing 1.5" means that this doesn't fit properly in a normal bedframe, which means it doesn't distribute the weight properly and is a recipe for a broken frame and saggy mattress edges.So yeah, it was easy to assemble and I like that I could carry a box spring up a narrow and twisty flight of stairs by myself, but it doesn't actually do what it needs to, which is safely support a mattress in a frame.

After moving into a new home, an older farmhouse, we found our queen size box springs would not fit up the stairway. I was delighted to find this half fold boxspring on Amazon but wasn't sure how exactly it would work.Very pleased 1) it arrived sooner than expected 2) very easy to assemble 3) fit perfectly on my bed frame 4) seems to be very sturdy. And of course, it solved the problem of getting up the narrow stairway!Would definitely buy again!

This item is amazing! My 16 year old put this together in 5-7 min. It is solidly built, doesn't squeak and does exactly what it is supposed to do. Plus, none of my walls were damaged in the process of getting it upstairs because it folds! I couldn't ask for more. Highly recommend!

The dimensions on the discription are wrong!! It does not fit in the metal frame I already had. I specifically bought this one because of the size and it is wrong!! It's 1.5 inches to small.

So far so great. Me and my fiance spent thousands and I do mean thousands on mattress with wooden box springs and cheap steel frames and they we're supposed to be the best but never lasted long enough. Be lucky to make it 5 months with replacement after replacement. But to cut a long story short. Glad we came across this that holds up to it's weight and a strong, sturdy steel frame that holds up to 3,000lbs. But I will update in a few months to let you all know how it's holding up. Update on this box spring. We just had 4 of the small steel bars brake on the left side of the bed. I had really high hopes for this box spring.

We own an older 2 story house with a narrow staircase and 3 bedrooms upstairs. Most mattresses have some flex that allow them to squeeze up the staircase but box springs have no give and wouldn't navigate the stairs. This was the perfect solution, take up folded and then it was easily set up in the bedroom with a nice tightly fitting cover. It fit the bedframe perfectly and feels very solid. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone in a similar situation. Enabled us to have a spare bedroom with a queen bed rather than just a full.

WOW!! Ordered this because our old house stairs wouldn't let a standard queen box spring up the stairs. I was a little skeptical of the claimed ease of assembly, and sturdiness, the product proved me wrong on all counts. From pulling it out of the box to assembling the bed with the mattress on top, a little less than 15 minutes. It was very easy to open up, it took a little adjusting to get the cover on and zipped up. It fit the frame perfectly. I was amazed at it's light weight. I was concerned it wouldn't be strong enough, but it actually supports the mattress better than the wooden full size box spring. A great product, easy assembly, and the perfect solution. Buy it!!!

Great product. Sturdy. Took it out of the bag opened it from half to full size and placed on the board. That's it. Easy peazy!
