Warm, comfortable, and perfect fit
The thermal pants sit very well, don’t cling to the skin or other clothes, and don’t restrict movement at all. The material feels pleasant and comfortable, even when worn for a long time. They’re very warm but still breathable, so there’s no overheating. Overall, they’re extremely comfortable and practical for cold weather. Very happy with the quality.

Indispensable wardrobe component!
Natural fabrics, excellent quality, true to fit size, washable, warm and utterly needed six months of the year. Great under jeans and work well as PJ bottoms paired with your favorite sweatshirt. Always wear them when traveling on airplanes, never a chill and breathable fabrics mean no overheating.

A good choice for those on a clothing budget
I'm not going to discuss sizing. These leggings are off the shelf, while everyone is custom made. So ultimately there is going to be a range of satisfaction as far as fit. I will compare the Duofold leggings to superwash merino leggings you can get from other companies. Those pure merino leggings typically cost two to five times or more what one pair of Duofold leggings cost. However, the pure merino leggings tend to be heavier, thinner, warmer, longer lasting, and faster drying. Another advantage of pure merino leggings is that they wick perspiration away from the body and have the peculiar trait of not smelling even after long use. What can be said for the Duofolds then? For me, the lower price of the Duofolds is a big factor in their favor. And even though the merino content in these Duofolds is a fraction of the total material in the leggings, still, that minority of merino manages to pull beyond its weight so that the Duofolds do a decent job of wicking away perspiration and insulating the legs, have the advantage of minimal odors after extended use between washings, dry relatively fast after washing, and are not bulky. All in all, given a budget of about $60, I'd rather wear three layers of Duofolds than wear one layer of pure merino leggings. That works for me for suburban activities. People going on days long outdoors trips might want to go for the pure merino leggings, though.

The longjohn pants are great; what occurred during shipping wasn't.
The product itself, the Duofold longjohn thermal pant, is great. I've purchased several. The inner layer is 100% cotton. The outer layer is 65% cotton, 25% Merino wool, and 10% nylon. They're warm, they're comfortable, they fit well. The wide elastic waistband is very comfortable. The "blue jean" color is nice. The longjohns, when arriving in good condition, are worthy of the full 5 stars. Here's the catch: the actual seller. Look at the available sellers, because in May - June 2025, the actual seller is not Amazon. In a list of several sellers, some ship it themselves, and for others the item actually ships from Amazon. And it's possible that an individual seller may have the item for sale with two different options: once, for one price, where they ship it; second, potentially for a different price, where Amazon actually ships it. I look at the seller ratings, and choose one with a satisfaction rating at least in the 98% range. If Amazon is the shipper, maybe as low as 94% is okay. I'd purchased a few times from a seller who shipped quickly, the pants arrived in new condition, and that was great. Then I decided to get another pair. My favorite seller was no longer listed in the sellers list. (The item currently defaults to a seller with something like a 74% seller rating, so no way.) What happened with my most recent purchase is this. I picked a high-rating seller. They were listed twice with one listing a few cents lower than the other, so I picked the lower option. What I failed to notice was that (apparently) the seller was shipping that one, while Amazon was shipping the slightly higher-priced one. The estimated delivery was 10 days or more out, but that was okay. When I checked the shipping status nearly a week later, it was "Delayed by Customs". What??!? I had no idea it was shipping from outside the US. It had been sitting at an east coast location for 3 days. Still, it was within the estimated delivery timeline, so I was patient and waited. The pant eventually arrived in its Duofold box in a plastic mailer envelop, squashed, definitely no longer in "box" form. The box was smashed, torn open top and bottom. Had someone at Customs opened it? Had the box opened when it got smashed in shipment? Had the seller shipped it in this poor condition? The longjohns were protruding partway through the opened top of the box, not as tightly rolled as they would have been when packaged at the factory. It looked like they'd been taken out, re-rolled, and put back in but not very well. I don't even know where this was shipped from. Overall, not an appealing product as it was received. The moral of the story is: pick your seller carefully! Take note of their seller rating. (This one's was 98% as I recall. There was a seller with a rating of 100%, but they had jacked up the price, so, no thanks.) Take note of whether the actual shipper is Amazon or the seller. This version of the Duofold longjohns pant really deserves 5 stars. I'm giving it 4 stars this time because by the time it got here it was certainly not in "as new" condition. I'm not dinging the seller, because they may have had no control over what happened to the boxed pant during shipping, although for better protection they could have used a small shipping carton instead of a mailer envelope. P.S. I think the Duofolds that contain wool may be an old style and disappearing. Newer versions with polyester may lack the very notable comfort of these.

For those who don't like being cold.
Cold weather and I don't get along, especially working as I do in a poorly heated detached workshop. These Duofolds make all the difference in the world between comfort and misery. The inner surface of the bottoms are cotton and a soft merino wool layer on top of that, so there is no problem with itching or skin irritation. You can wear these all day or complement your pajamas at night with them. They are also of a manageable thickness so you don't have to buy larger pants, or pajamas, to accommodate them. I have Duofold in cappuccino, blue, and heather and I like the heather color the best. Regardless, they do what I want, which is keep me warm and comfortable. I highly recommend this product (BTW, buy a size larger than your normal size because there is some initial shrinkage even if you wash with cold water and dry on cool). Wear your socks on top of the bottoms so the bottoms don't ride up your leg with movement. For most cold days and nights these mid-weights are perfect; when it is really cold I shift to the Duofold heavy wools. The merchant from whom I bought this product was very quick to ship and the product was in first rate shape. Kudos.

Happy to see these available again.
DuoFold clothing seemed to have disappeared about ten years ago. Was a big fan of them before that, but found it impossible to find back then. Now, they appear everywhere and seeing that, I ordered several shirts and thermal pants. Love the softness and warmth. Not itchy.

Expensive but a much better experience
Got my first pair of long johns (unknown brand) from a local 99 cent store and they were just awful! Too short in the front, too long in the back, too tight in the thigh and too loose in the ankle. They were warm but the material wasn't comfortable. They were like $10 for a set of top and bottoms. Finally sucked it up and spent twice that for half the number of products but it was worth it. These are so super soft and flexible. They have just a little extra space so i don't feel or look like I'm wearing skin tight leggings. The front and back come up to the perfect hight. They also do their job and keep me warm! Would love a 5 pack of these to just wear around the house or even as sleepwear.

Warm & soft. Highly recommended.
Received a REPACKAGED pair that turned out to be 2XL instead of XL. They’re only a little too big. So I won’t bother returning them. They’re the softest and most comfortable pair I’ve found so far. I’ll buy another XL pair from a different supplier.
