ZAAP(USA) Easy Vent One (3rd Generation) Premium Car Mount

The media could not be loaded. ZAAP Easy Vent one is an excellent mobile holder to use in your car dashboard AC vent. I found that it holds the mobile quite steady and the mobile does not fall off even on very bumpy roads. I am very happy to claim that it is the best mobile holder I have found so far. The product is designed in USA and made in Korea. The plastic is not cheap or flimsy but it is hard and good quality which assures me that the product will last for a very long time. You can use the mobile in any way you want as the holder can rotate 360 degrees. I prefer this kind of mobile holder as it does not act as an eye sore and hinder my view on the windscreen. It also occupies minimal space on the dashboard and is quite handy. Although, it is little expensive at Rs 899 but considering that my mobile is totally safe when I use this, it is worth the premium.

The product is really good. I have been using it for the past 2 months. I am sure many people have written the review to get the free product which the seller has been providing. Even I will be using this review to get the free product. But I am not doing it only for the sake of free product. I tend to write reviews for all the products I buy, after 2-3 months of using it.Pros: The quality of product is awesome.The glue is very good. This product is far better than the local products available in car accessories shop.The various adjustments pertaining to size/movement are really useful.Cons:The cost factor is very high. Though the product is really good and u can use it for years to come, i guess the price is on higher side. Hence one star less.Worst the rate has fallen from 1499 to 1099 in 2 months. Don't know why. I lost that 400 bucks. Bad.But there is no other good product in the market which is cheaper than this.So go ahead with this and you will not regret buying it.

The day I received the packing I started unboxing it with an assumption that this is going to be just like the many phone mounts I have used in my car - may be a little better or may be not. I was impressed by the way it was packed. Once I got through the layers of protective packing and got my hands on this product I realized that it is much different from what I was used to. The quality was superb, it was not too heavy and when gently placed on a surface it was very well balanced. There was this "Made in Korea" marking on the sticky gel pads which is a sign of quality because I have been used to so many cheap China products that anything other than China would make believe in the better quality aspect. (P.S Would be happy to see a Made in India).The most important parts of this mount are the GEL PADS and the HOLDER. Both these have been spot on in terms of quality.When I removed the protective layer on the gel pad I realized that it had a sticky layer like an adhesive but not an adhesive. I was very careful at picking the spot on my dash board where I wanted to fix this as my first impression convinced me that once this thing grapples to something it is not going to let go easily. I chose the flattest surface possible on the dash because curvature may work against the vacuum. My car dash is not a glossy one, it has a leathery pattern to it and I was not sure how this thing is going to remain on it, The moment I gently placed this mount on the car dash I realized that it already stuck to the dash pretty strongly - thank fully I was too careful in placing it because I wanted it to be perfect in the first go. Once I was fine by the placement position I pushed down the lever to enable vacuum suction and it became one with the dash. There was no way I could remove it from my dash at all.The phone holder had soft non slippery rubber padding on the inside and the holder opened up very widely to accommodate my 5.7" Phone with an Otter Box case which makes it a bulky unit. my phone just slides in smoothly and stays there no matter how I drive. Indian roads can shake up our cars pretty badly and I have been on those roads with my phone stuck in this mound and I have never ever see my phone move a millimeter out of the position I wanted it to be.SO MY VERDICT IS THAT YOUR PHONE WILL SURVIVE A CAR CRASH EVEN THOUGH YOU MAY NOT - this mount is "Amazing" and I say this with my personal experience of owning a bunch of mounts that have always dropped my phone in the middle of a drive which distracted me and pissed me off. Trust me - you don't want your phone to go under your dusty seat when you are driving...!

***update: the ZAAP team got in touch with me and shared a video of the product to help, while dispatching a fresh piece. I've added another star for their coordination/confidence. That said, while the product works just fine on the windshield (not ideal for me), it refuses to stick to the dashboard - the latter even when using the two-stage suction switch.***Update: the ZAAP team packs a card with their product that says if you review their product and send them a screenshot, they send you a ZAAP premium 2 port car charger for free. Dutifully, I took a screenshot and sent it their way. Then was told: we want seller feedback. Done. Posted and shared. What did they send? A generic USB cable :) further mails and queries went unreplied. Poor customer and marketing ownership.All the other elements worked fine (holder mechanism is a bit iffy but firm once it clamps on, I like the extension that allows you to draw it closer) but the 'sticky surface' failed me. It wobbled on the dashboard and no amount of rinsing or holding and waiting for it to take helped. Have requested a return and refund, one star pending the closure of this without hitches.
