Excellent book that explains the basics of Interior design, very logically and simply. I have personally gathered these tips over the years and am happy to see Ellen compile and present them beautifully. Starting from identifying your personal style to creating vignettes, placing pictures on the wall, pairing complementary palletes etcHighly recommended.5 stars

Packing was nice. Book is also looking nice. Just teared the packing yesterday and started reading. For the people who are looking to design your own home with fun, this will helps you a lot.

Very good coffee table book.

Lovely book. I quite like Emily Henderson and in this book she not only gives us pretty pictures but also explains how and why a certain room decor works. It's one of those books I keep picking up time and again and get fresh insights each time.

All the elements and decore is used here is not suitable for Indian house so not suitable for Indian traditional and minimalist interiors

This is a very accessible book as an introduction for people who are new to the basic concepts of how to decorate a room in a stylish way. I appreciate the author's encouragement to work with what you have, rather than to go out shopping right away. However, there are some good tips for when it is time to shop. The design principles presented are brief and to the point, but I think that if the reader takes the time to learn and absorb them well, they can be applied effectively. This book appears to be geared more toward the average person, or used as a stylish coffee table book, rather than aspiring professionals. I'm at the beginning of my journey, so it was a fine choice for me.

This is the best book for people who want to immediately start improving their home style. It's very practical and gives some solid advice on how to arrange things, match colours, etc.

Wonderful book! I can't get enough of it. It has introduction to styles for beginners like me. No obscure names and unknown words, she explains everything. There are many helpful tips on how to combine textures, choose bright colors vs tonal palette, how to show off what you have, and make it feel like "your" space.It also helps you determine your style. I agree that the quiz makes no sense, but I could go through the list of styles and pick what I like about every one of those. It has plenty of inspiring photos of interiors with explanations of how it was done. It does have a lot of mid-century modern examples, but those are examples and I took them as guides, not as "go do this to your room". Overall, it helped me relax my "every surface needs to be empty and clean" standards and gave me a sense of how to make my house a cozy place.
