Would rather sit in darkness
I originally gave these a 1 star review as they immediately started flickering upon being plugged in. I was irate so I emailed the contact address they give you on a little card to let them know I was unsatisfied - turns out I had bought lightbulbs that weren’t 100% compatible with my fittings. Boxlood explained they issue, and a quick google (and even some of these reviews I should have read first) confirmed this. They even sent me a pack of transformers free of charge so I could make my fittings compatible with these bulbs. I’m not a qualified electrician so I don’t feel comfortable undertaking this myself, so I haven’t actually installed the bulbs. But my 1 star review was unfair and no fault of the product, so they get 4 stars for their excellent customer service (would be 5 if I had installed these bulbs before writing this!)

Bright
Great price. Bright.

Bright with good spread of light
I wish we replaced our old bulbs with these much earlier. For a 6.2 watt bulb they are very bright and they flood every inch of our kitchen with light. Much better that the previous 7w we had.

Fantastic, Energy Efficient Lights
This products provides great lighting quality with a massive reduction in energy use. I have nine spot lights in my kitchen and replaced 50W builds with these. This resulted in nine new builds using less energy than one of the original lights. My smart meter and my wallet were very happy. These builds are slightly longer than my original ones so they protrude a few mm's out from the ceiling. They look great and are easier to take out when the time comes to replace (originals difficult to take out and would often break during removal). All in all, fantastic, energy efficient lights that were great value for money.

Flicker and buzzing due to voltage sensitivity
The bulbs seemed mostly okay and are pretty bright however they all emit an audible buzz. In addition, one of four light sockets would cause the bulb(s) to rapidly flicker and would suggest a bad transformer. I tried some equivalent Tesco LED bulbs which initially seemed fine, but would flicker just like before only minutes later. Fortunately, equivalent Phillips LED bulbs work flawlessly. They are a bit more expensive, but less than the cost of a new transformer :) Would these bulbs work okay with a proper LED transformer? Probably. Am I happier to use more expensive Philips LED bulbs to avoid needlessly replacing transformers? Absolutely yes. Transformers don’t just cost money either, it’s also a lot of time and effort. Unlike these bulbs, they are a drop-in replacement for halogens. Hope this is helpful for someone as I was starting to think I’d have to just buy more halogens.

Will flicker if your lighting installation isn’t specifically for leds
Read the small print. Will flicker on a normal household circuit not installed specifically for leds. I am fed up changing them so will be returning to the normal ones.

Replacement Bulb
Replacement for a kitchen bulb, easy to install and worked with the second bulb being the original. However, as it was brighter I installed a second new one and it didn't work, so put the original back. We now have slightly different brightnesses between the 2 but not a big issue. I was surprised though that despite the product showing identical details to the old bulb that it clearly uses a bit more power so might not work for others.

Les ampoules ne fonctionne pas vraiment très très déçu et dégoûté de ce faire arnaqué 😡😡

They work for a few minutes, but eventually go extremely dim. This occurs on several bulbs, both connected to dimmer or to a source with fixed voltage. It is pity because when they work they are quite bright.

I started using these LEDs in May 2020 when I redesigned and added more lights to our landscape lighting system. Before using these LEDs, I was using 50w halogen MR16 bulbs because I liked the amount of light output, dispersion, and color temperature. However, when I increased the number of lights on our system I needed to either get a huge transformer (600+ watts) to provide enough wattage for all of the desired light locations or go to LED bulbs which use 1/10 of the watts. And, if I bought the larger transformer and stayed with the halogen bulbs, our electrical usage would have jumped to about $30/month, just for the landscape lights. Now, I like the look of a nicely lit home and yard, but why pay $30/month (plus more for hardware and bulbs) when I could be paying $3... IF the quality of the LED bulbs was good. After doing a fair bit of research, I settled on these Boxlood MR16 LEDs and I could not be happier with the results. Every single bulb worked. All aspects of the light quality were excellent and largely stayed that way over their useful life (more on this later). I must admit that I'm always a bit wary of buying Chinese-produced lighting because of the often outrageous claims as to light output (lumens), color temperature (Kelvin), or expected lifespan. These Boxlood bulbs are excellent in all respects -- they're bright, have a very nice halogen-like 3000° Kelvin color, and last a long time. They claim to have a 20,000-hour lifespan, and by my calculations, I'm getting reasonably close to that. The first of the bulbs that I purchased in 2020 are just beginning to burn out (light quality and output seemed fine, right up to the end). If you do the math, over the ~50 months that I've had the bulbs, the 20,000 hours would equal about 13 hours/day. My best estimate is that our landscape lights are on an average of about 11 hours/day, or roughly 85% of the stated 20,000-hour life, in all kinds of weather from blazing hot to freezing cold. This 85% performance (presumably against a 20,000-hour rating done in a lab under ideal conditions) is more than good enough for me. Frankly, for the price per bulb and electricity savings, I'd be happy with even less lifespan! The bottom line, these are great bulbs that I will continue to purchase as long as they are available.
