Compact size, bright light
My title tells the story. For a while I was looking for a good flashlight that takes C batteries--because I had a bunch extra of them and I thought it would offer a bit smaller size than the D-size which is larger. Anyway, it is bright, easy twist-on/off, and I'm happy.

Classic Durable Flashlight!
This is the classic 3-Cell D Maglite flashlight that you see cops and security folks frequently using. These used to be indestructible. I had the same maglite 15 years ago and used to leave it in my car and even hammer things with it. One year I left it in a trunk all winter and the batteries blew up. I pried the batteries out and rinsed it with water and wiped it out good and it still worked fine. I gave it to a relative. Back to this flashlight, it feels the same quite durable. Still waterproof and solid. I think without the batteries the metal case feels a little lighter than it used to be. It has been upgraded with LED lights which are CRAZY BRIGHT! I can confirm it is Still water proof. I ordered the 3-cell C battery version first by accident. It was way to small so I immediately returned and reordered the 3-D. This is definitely not a pocket flashlight, but if you need a solid sturdy versatile flashlight around I feel like this can't be beat! Solid flash light

no on and off switch
Mag-lites are worth the money. The upgrade to LEC lights is great. Light is bright and in spotlight adjustment is far reaching. With the use of the white cone, it gives you a great small lantern. I have been using Mag-lites for about 40 years and they keep getting better.

The best flashlight!
Yes, in the past I purchased LED flashlights made in a china. They all failed a year or two after being used. Not dependable! I like the large Maglites, so I tried a LED 3C cell Maglite. I found all of the Maglites are built better and made in the USA. So far, I purchased 8 of these. I inspect the batteries every year. Usually the batteries in a standby flashlight are good for more than 5 years. At that point, I purchase a large box of batteries and replace them all. I highly recommend these made in the USA flashlights!!!
