Exceptional Daypack for Sensitive Gear!
As a veteran who often ranges into rugged terrains, I needed a backpack that could protect my gear while being comfortable for all-day carry. The HAZARD 4 Pillbox Thermocap Photo-Daypack has been an absolute revelation. This tactical-inspired bag combines rugged construction with thoughtful features, making it ideal for photographers, drone operators, or anyone needing a reliable daypack for sensitive equipment. From its protective thermo-molded shell to customizable interiors, it's a premium choice that delivers on every front. If you're in the market for a high-quality, gear-focused backpack, this one from HAZARD 4 is a standout performer. Robust Build and Protective Design The Pillbox's standout feature is its thermo-cap front panel โ a hard, molded shell that provides exceptional protection against impacts, perfect for safeguarding cameras, lenses, or drones. Made from durable, high-denier nylon with reinforced stitching throughout, this bag feels indestructible. I've taken it on hikes and urban shoots, and it shows no signs of wear, even after brushes with rough surfaces. The coyote color adds a tactical, low-profile aesthetic that blends seamlessly in outdoor environments, while being fade-resistant and easy to clean. Unlike softer backpacks that sag under load, this one maintains its shape, offering peace of mind for valuable gear. Customizable and Spacious Interior Inside, the bag shines with its modular design. It comes with customizable padded inserts that let you configure compartments to fit your specific setup โ whether its DSLR bodies, multiple lenses, or accessories like batteries and filters. The main compartment is spacious enough for a full day's worth of equipment, plus extras like a laptop or tablet in the dedicated sleeve. I love the admin pocket on the front, which is one of the best I've seen: organized with slots for pens, cards, and small tools, plus Velcro panels for adding patches or peripherals. This level of organization keeps everything accessible and secure, turning chaotic gear hauls into efficient outings. Comfortable Carry for Extended Use Comfort is where this daypack truly impresses. The padded shoulder straps and back panel are ergonomically designed, distributing weight evenly to prevent fatigue during long carries. Breathable mesh enhances airflow, keeping you cool on hot days, and the sternum strap adds stability for active movement. At around 3-4 pounds empty, it's lightweight yet sturdy, making it suitable for daily commutes or extended adventures. Users rave about how it outperforms other bags in comfort, and I agree โ no more shoulder aches after hours of wear. High-Quality Hardware and Versatility Every detail screams quality: smooth, heavy-duty YKK zippers that glide effortlessly and resist snags, plus multiple attachment points for MOLLE-compatible accessories. It's water-resistant, handling light rain without issue, and the overall build supports tactical uses beyond photography, like EDC or light hiking. The versatility extends to its size โ compact enough for urban use but roomy for gear-heavy trips. Hazard 4's reputation for tactical gear shines here, with features that cater to professionals and hobbyistsโ alike. Outstanding Value and Reliability Priced competitively for its premium features, this backpack offers tremendous value compared to similar high-end options. It's built to last, potentially outliving cheaper alternatives that fail quickly. Backed by positive user feedback on its durability and functionality, it's a smart investment for anyone serious about protecting their equipment. In summary, the HAZARD 4 Pillbox Thermocap Photo-Daypack in Coyote has elevated my gear-carrying experience with its protective design, customization, and all-day comfort. It's a five-star essential for photographers and adventurers โ highly recommended for its unbeatable blend of toughness and practicality!

Great backpack
This backpack is just overall great. I use this as my personal backpack and mainly for electronics. The hard shell is very hard and compression is hardly an issue. Iโd imagine youโd have to stand on it to cause harm to things inside and even then you may have trouble. The inside is very well padded and soft. Electronic approved I typically carry my legion Go 8.8 and an iPad Pro 13 with the nano screen so protection is very important. I have plenty of room for a controller, batteries, headphones, mouse and keyboard, etc. Waterproofing seems to work quite well. I have carried it through heavy rain but not for an extensive period of time. Maybe a couple minutes. Outside felt wet but inside was bone dry. The outside rail attachment is an additional purchase Iโve made that really helped with outdoorsy things. Lots of tie on options. If you bring a laptop it must be smaller than 15.50 inches in length and 11.50 inches in width. I have an ASUS G18 that measures 15.71 x 11.57. If the backpack didnโt have rounded corners it would maybe fit but tightly. Ideal width would be more like 11.3.

Great bag
I am a daily backpack user and I've torn through many different bags and this one is built really well. Reinforced stitching everywhere it needs to be, zippers are excellent quality, plenty of accessories available, and very comfortable on your shoulders and back. Highly recommend especially if you're lugging around camera and studio equipment. It would even be great for video game consoles cause you can customize the padded inserts anyway you like. And you can attach hook and loop velcro all over the interior.

Nice pack, lots of storage........but
I am a big fan of Hazard4 bags, packs, accessories. I bought this pillbox as a pack to use for traveling as I have to carry 2 laptops (work/personal) and this bag seems to fit the bill. I love the 2nd compartment for storing cables, chargers, accessories. It's nicely organized and flexible, you can arrange the compartment barriers with some flexibility. What could be "Challenging" with this pack, and the 2nd compartment, would be trying to access goodies when, let's say, you're on a plane, where room is limited. On a flat table it's nice to open it and lay everything out. My work laptop (yoga380) and my home laptop (dell 7xxx, yes, it's old) fit just fine in this bag. Work laptop fits in back sleeve and it's nicely padded, home laptop fits perfectly in the front panel sleeve. Accessorie pockets in front section is somewhat limited, and they have 4 sleeves that are so small I'm not quite sure what they could be used for. Glasses, pens and other "Flatter" items fit in front section, in 2nd section you have quite a few slots for accessories with depth. The only "But" on this is the weight, even unloaded it's not a "light" backpack, but the rigid structure of it is nice, and with that it keeps pesky passengers on planes from "JAMMING" their oversized carry on next to yours, which is nice (I can't tell you how many times I've been on a plane and watched people try to stuff their hard bags, crushing my soft backpack in the process.. manners, where have they gone? ). . I did put both the Beavertail and Rail accessories on this pack, then I used the bungee cord (black) to thread through the rails and over the beavertail, which works okay, the beavertail gives you another storage compartment and some Molle slits as well. (remember, if you use the rails and/or beavertail you won't be able to use the bungee cord on the inside of the pack, as it's displayed in the pictures. As the screws you use to mount them disallow the use of the holes for the bungee on the inside. . All in all a good pack, especially if you want to protect what's inside. . All in all a good pack

Honestly? Its almost perfect
I've been buying from Hazard4 for years now. Overall, an excellent company for tactical bags at a good price. I bought this thing for an upcoming convention that needed a little more added security for my wares. While I was expecting a high quality product, what I got was that and then some. Due to the massive thermo-cap front, this thing is way more durable than the Second Front/Sidewinder and the Patrol bag. Highly recommended for high end photography gear, or other gear you don't want to get damaged. Comfort is top-notch, and it's admin pocket is actually the best I've seen in a Hazard 4 bag, including the nice velcro portion to add on peripherals. Now, I said this thing is ALMOST perfect. There are a few things I would LOVE to see with this bag: - A stowaway option for the straps. I can see that the straps are almost removable. Having a possible slip pouch to stow them into like some of the Chinook Tactical bags have, or even having a possible option to remove the straps entirely would be awesome, and make a little more sense for the construction of the bag. - Deeper main pocket would be awesome. I feel like the main compartment is a little shallow and needs around an additional inch of room to just make it easier for larger objects. - I'd love to see some velcro on the outside of this thing for patches. While the Hibachi comes with this option, the only thing that lacks from this model is the outer velcro/MOLLE hybrid strapping. In short: This bag is goo enough to be a day back or a gear bag. The flocked innards of the bag add a new depth of customization, and I know for a fact this thing will take a beating.

Bought on a Cyber Monday whim, now one of my favorite bags for traveling with gear.
Family and friends give me flak for being a gear guy, especially about bags. I have so many duffels, backpacks, suitcases, flight cases, etc., I told myself I didn't need anymore. However, I'd been eyeing the pillbox for a couple of years, but didn't pull the trigger, as I'd been working on moving away from the "tactical" look - while many designs are utilitarian, I've started feeling it's kind of tacky for everyday carry. Even stuffed full, this backpack fits PERFECTLY under the seat during a commercial flight, and I feel confident my camera is snugly padded and safe in the main compartment and customizable padded velcro subcompartments. Between the other compartments and that, I had room for everything but my tripod, plus two laptops and a change of clothes. I love this bag!

Perfect bag for a fully assembled gimbal.
I waited until I tested this bag enough to write my review. Perfect size for carry on, and the way it opens. I took this bag to New York, had no issues going through TSA, every security checkpoint I went through during my visit. I chose this bag for the hard shell comparment. its big enough to fit my Feiyutech A2000 gimball fully assembled with a AgimbalGear handle. The Molle inside helps to tie it down so its not moving arround. I tried several bags including some from Hazard 4 and this is the one that fits my gimbal fully assembled... again... fully asembled :D the Camera comparment is very user friendly. I fit a Sony A6500 with a small rig cage fitted with a Sony18-105f4, a sony 50mm1.8, a sony 55-210, a manfrotto MYPIXI-B and a Feiyutech tripods, a feelworld ma5 monitor inside an altura photo case, a Godox TT350s flash in its bag, a dust blower and a paracord wrist strap and 5 sony NP-FW50, 2 NP-F550, 4 AA's and 4 Feiyutech batteries. the side fits a 65" tripod. I bought a small raincover and I wore this bag for 4 days in nasty rain in new york unable to get my gear out, and finally a 16 hour day taking pictures and video when it stopped raining. The bag full of gear is a bit heavy but the bag is very well ballanced and didnt hurt my back carring it. I am worried a bit of the zipper quality, they seem a bit small, and if they fail, what could be the back up strap is on the wrong side of the bag, if the zippers fail all your gear will end up in the ground. So I will reach out to Hazard 4 about this. Next stop... Disneyland.

Decent Pack
I bought this pack to carry my DJI Mavic Platinum Pro and all of it's associated equipment. I know Hazard 4 has some bags marketed specifically for this purpose, but they didn't really appeal to me. I was able to get everything in the bag with no issues. The Mavic, controller, 2 spare batteries, single battery charger hub, 4 battery charger hub, wall charger power brick, car charger power brick, extended legs, camera filters, misc. cables, iPad Pro, iPad mount, Surface 3 Pro, and whole slew of other things. I added pouches to the molle of the admin area to hold all my additional rotors. It does exactly what I want and does it well. The pack is comfortable and easy to adjust. The removable waist belt was easy to remove. I'm not carrying enough weight to warrant needing it and with my height and where the bag sits the waist belt wouldn't be sitting on my hips anyway. The zippers seem a bit finicky, but that maybe because they're new. The stitching seems decent. The material appears to be good quality as well. The grey color is a bit unique. I wasn't sure I would like it when I ordered the bag, but once I saw it I thought it was a nice color. It has a Civilian Labs 3D logo on it instead of the Hazard 4 3D Logo. It is what you would expect from Hazard 4. Any drawbacks...well the admin area could use some rework to make it more useful. It's not horrible but there are four tiny useless pockets on the larger flap pocket. Some elastic bands or one larger pocket would be more useful. That's really the only complaint I can come up with for the bag.

Good but....
Some doubts about zippers. Looks very light for such heavy rigid backpack. Should be more tough.
