Hormone Free Heaven
The NHS website now shows an image of a Caya Diaphragm on the contraception page however my local sexual health clinic provided me with the old fashioned, enormous, rubber diaphragms. They need to be sized so a doctor has a poke about to determine which diameter works best for your cervix and they'll teach you how to tell the diaphragm is safely in place, (allowing you to feel it yourself in the presence of the doctor) which is obviously vitally important if you want it to be an effective method of contraception. The old fashioned diaphragm works fine however it takes a lot of practice to master and in my case, could always be detected by my sexual partner which kind of kills my vibe. It got stuck too which is honestly horrible, (I needed my partner to help me hook it out... yikes and ouch.)After researching better alternatives and as a last attempt at remaining hormone free I ordered the Caya diaphragm and she is the dream.A flexible, little thing that is very easy to place; easier than the old diaphragm by far and to a person who has never used a diaphragm I would even say she's easier to place than a menstrual cup.The soft silicone material is so perfect that the only thing that affects the mood these days is my partner asking, "Is the diaphragm in? Can I cum?" 😂💃💃I've had issues removing this one too however the handle design really helps when you're in a tricky spot and I've always managed to get it out eventually. To all the girls who know the pill isn't right for them..... give Caya a go. I highly recommend trying it out. Getting off the hormones and regaining some sanity was a huge incentive for me and I'll never, ever go back to them now. Caya is really user friendly and way better than condoms (for obvious reasons). You shouldn't be able to feel her so you can just pop her in hours ahead of time if you want to and just have her chillin and waiting.I will say.... I feel confident using it as I originally had extensive advice from the sexual health clinic on the general use of the diaphragm. Invaluable in my opinion. That being said, DON'T scrimp on spermicide/caya gel when placing the Caya, if it's been a while then reapply gel before the big event if you can. Become friends with your cervix and just practice practice practice placement. It really will make it perfect.

Great design, very easy to use!
I was skeptical about this product in the beginning but I’ve been pleasantly surprised - I don’t want to take hormonal contraception atm so opted for this diaphragm and I’m really glad I did because it’s a very good design, it slides in easy without any issues, you can feel that it’s in the right place and it’s very easy to remove. Partner says he can’t feel it either so all round happy! Great product, would recommend for sure

Top quality and very effective
I can’t recommend this enough. Detailed instructions, fabulous quality and quick delivery, it will take a bit of getting used to but persevere and it will certainly be worth it. Highly recommended, no more hormones and appointments just freedom!

Works OK
Decided to give this a go as although I'm unlikely to physically fall pregnant, didn't want to take the chance. It's easy to insert, I couldn't feel it when it was in, and easy to remove. My partner said he was aware of it being there, but it didn't cause any problems for him. I found I could feel it during intercourse in some positions, to the extent that it made me uncomfortable and have to change. Was getting on OK but all of a sudden had a deep pain and had to stop. Pain was still there so decided to remove, and that's where it lost a star because I couldn't get it out! It was well and truly stuck and I could feel it had 'bunched up' inside me. I was in so much pain I had to ask my partner to get it out for me, which was painful also.I've used diaphragms and caps in the past and never had the problem of them getting stuck, maybe I just got unlucky. I'd like to say I'd be confident using this again as it came recommended by my doctor as perfect for me, but I'm scared to use it again in again it gets stuck (and my partner said he found it stressful to see me in pain and him have to faff to get it out) - maybe sizing issue?

Perfect hormone free birth control
I stopped using birth control pills as they gave me terrible anxiety. I was initially concerned about the efficacy of the caya diaphragm- but I have been using it for 2 years and it is FANTASTIC!! It has recently been redesigned I think, it now fits even better. I have not fallen pregnant in the two years I’ve been using it. I do pair it with the pullout method as well, jussst in case, both together really work well, I would highly recommend to women who have had adverse reactions to the pill like I did. It’s not very disruptive, you can’t feel it, if used correctly every time, you’re not likely to fall pregnant. I genuinely couldn’t recommend this more. I wish more women knew about it!

Not ideal
Sent it back very difficult to insert correctly as need really long fingers to push up into correct position and even the nurse couldn't help me get it correctly in place
