Q: Measurements in picture is different from description. Which do I go by?

Pictures and it's not exactly the poles lean out the back and you can always attach it further forward on t top

It has an adjustable strap on each front corner. So order width accordingly or will be sagging in the middle if not fully stretched

NO, this is a directional unit. The adjustable straps are on the front of the canvas. Those straps will mount to your top.
